Junimo Huts are a game-changer for any farmer in Stardew Valley. These mystical buildings allow Junimos to automatically harvest your crops, saving you precious time. In this guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about Junimo Huts, including how to unlock them, the cost of construction, and their benefits.

What Are Junimo Huts

Junimo Huts are special late-game buildings in Stardew Valley that allow Junimos—magical forest creatures—to automatically harvest fully-grown crops for you.

These huts can greatly simplify your farm management, saving you time during the busy harvest seasons. However, they require completing a series of quests and unlocking magical buildings from the Wizard.

How to Unlock Junimo Huts

To unlock Junimo Huts in Stardew Valley, players must first finish either the Community Center bundles or the JojaMart Warehouse project. After completing one of these, the Wizard will offer a quest to find his Magic Ink.

Once you retrieve the Magic Ink, you’ll gain access to the Book of Summoning, which allows you to purchase magical buildings like the Junimo Hut.

How to Build Junimo Huts

The required materials for building a Junimo Hut.

After unlocking the Book of Summoning by completing the Wizard’s Magic Ink quest, you’ll be able to build several magical structures, including Junimo Huts. These buildings function like any other construction in Stardew Valley—you need to gather specific materials and pay a fee to get them built.

To construct a Junimo Hut, you will need:

  • 20,000 Gold
  • 9 Star Fruit
  • 200 Stone
  • 100 Fiber

Once you have the required materials, visit the Wizard’s tower and use the Book of Summoning to place the building on your farm. Remember, Junimo Huts cover a 17×17 tile radius, so place them strategically for the best crop coverage.

How Junimo Huts Work

Once you’ve placed a Junimo Hut on your farm, it will automatically activate. Junimos will start harvesting fully grown crops and flowers within an 8-tile radius around the building. However, they will not harvest in the following situations:

  • During Winter or when it’s raining
  • Crops grown from Wild Seeds
  • Crops or flowers in Flower Pots
  • Giant crops
  • After 7:10 PM

When Junimos harvest crops or flowers, they carry them back to the Junimo Hut. To collect your harvested crops, simply interact with the hut to retrieve them.

While in the Junimo Hut’s menu, you can press the button with a Junimo holding a blueberry to toggle their automatic harvesting on or off.

Chance to Double Crop Harvest

You can place Raisins inside the building for a 20% chance to yield double crops. Junimos consume one bag of Raisins per week, and you can replenish them as often as you’d like to keep boosting your chances for double harvests.

To make Raisins, use a Dehydrator by adding 5 Grapes. After one in-game day, you’ll receive a bag of Raisins.

Junimos Can Change Color

Junimos naturally change color with each season, but you can customize their appearance by placing a Gemstone in their house. For example, placing an Amethyst will turn them purple.

If you want a more dynamic look, place a Prismatic Shard in the building to give Junimos a rainbow effect, where they’ll continuously change colors while collecting your crops.

So there you have it! Junimo Huts are a game-changer for your farming life in Stardew Valley. They make harvesting a breeze and give you a little extra time to focus on other fun stuff, like exploring or fishing. Plus, you can customize your Junimos and even double your crop yields with a few Raisins! Dive in, get those buildings set up, and let the Junimos do the heavy lifting while you enjoy your farm life!
