The Stardew Valley Dark Talisman quest is a special quest players can complete for the Wizard after completing the Community Center or JojaMart. This quest tasks the player with finding a special Dark Talisman item to use to gain access to the Witch’s Swamp. How to Start the Dark Talisman Quest

To start the Dark Talisman quest, you must have completed either the Community Center or the JojaMart. Once you’ve finished either of these buildings, head to the Railroad area, where you’ll trigger a cutscene with the Wizard. During the cutscene, the Wizard will ask you to retrieve his Magic Ink from the Witch’s Hut. However, before you can do that, you must obtain the Dark Talisman, thus initiating the Dark Talisman quest.

To obtain the Dark Talisman and lower the magical barrier to enter the Witch’s Swamp, you’ll need to find it somewhere in the valley. The Wizard suggests that Krobus may have a Dark Talisman, so your best bet is to speak to him in the Sewers.

To access the Sewers and find Krobus, you must donate a total of 60 items to the Museum. Once you’ve reached this milestone, Gunther will give you the Rusty Key, which opens either the sewer cover in south Pelican Town or the sewer door in Cindersnap Forest. If you have the key, head to the Sewers now. If not, focus on gathering artifacts until you obtain it.

Where to Find the Dark Talisman

Upon entering the Sewers, locate Krobus and speak to him. Krobus will inform you about the Dark Talisman, although he doesn’t have it himself. Instead, he mentions that he dropped it in the Mutant Bug Lair, which can be accessed through the door in the far left corner of the Sewers. Proceed through this door and head north through the Mutant Bug Lair until you reach a Treasure Chest. Inside the chest, you’ll find the Dark Talisman.

Take the Dark Talisman Back to the Magical Barrier

Grab the Dark Talisman and return to the Railroad area. Approach the magical barrier, and the talisman will activate, causing it to fly away. Proceed through the newly opened door to enter the Witch’s Swamp. As you move forward, speak to the Henchman blocking your path to initiate the next quest, called Goblin Problem.
