To unlock Spiffo as a pet in Terraria you need to get the item named the Spiffo Plush. This item drops off of a very obvious source, zombies! Zombie enemies appear on the surface at night (07:30pm-4:30am). They shamble along towards the player’s location while they are spawning.

To get the Spiffo pet item you simply need to farm away on zombies until on of the pet items drops. Officially it has a 0.667% chance to drop. For reference, on my farming adventure to get the item to drop it took roughly ~700 zombies kills.

Once you have the Spiffo Plush you can use it like you would other pet items in the game. Triggering it like you would other items causes Spiffo to appear. You can also slot it into the pet slot to have Spiffo constantly activated.

The Spiffo Plushy isn’t the only exciting addition in the Terraria 1.4.4 patch. Players can now face a new hidden boss named Mechdusa, along with a variety of new items, including two Stardew Valley pets to unlock and a unique Dirt Block pet!
