Like previous 7 Star Raid Battles the Typhlosion is limited to one catch per save. It is Shiny Locked meaning you have to use alternative methods to get Typhlosion in its Shiny form.

When the Typhlosion Tera Raid event is active players can look for a Black Crystal Raid Dungeon on their map once per day. Additionally players can also join up online with either their friends or other trainers via the Poke Portal to take on Typhlosion.

Typhlosion Tera Raid Moves

Before diving head first into the Level 100 Typhlosion Tera Raid you will want to know what you are going up against. The Typhlosion you face is Tera Type Poison. Additionally you will want to know the Pokemon’s moveset. The Level 100 Typhlosion you face has the following move set:

MoveDescription
Flash Fire (Hidden Ability)If hit by a Fire-type move, the Pokemon absorbs the flames and uses them to power up its own Fire-type moves.
Shadow BallThe user attacks by hurling a shadowy blob at the target. This may also lower the target’s Sp. Def stat.
Sunny DayThe user intensifies the sun for five turns, powering up Fire-type attacks. The sunlight also lowers the power of Water-type attacks.
EruptionThe user attacks opposing Pokémon with explosive fury. The lower the user’s HP, the lower the move’s power.
Play RoughThe user attacks by playing rough with the target. This may also lower the target’s Attack stat.
EarthquakeThe user sets off an earthquake that strikes every Pokémon around it.

The Tera Raid Typhlosion offers some interesting coverage issues. The Pokemon deals Fire, Fairy, Ground, and Ghost type damage. To counter this you need to find a Pokemon build that can survive these types of damage while also dealing damage against Typhlosion.

Best Pokemon to Use Against Typhlosion

Solo: This raid can be solo’ed using Annihilape. It’s not pretty, but it can be done. The video above shows the basic approach. Ensure your Annihilape is Level 100, is Tera Type Ghost, and has EVs in HP and Attack. Once you’ve done that the approach is fairly simple:

T1-2: Screech.

T3+: Rage Fist.

After you’ve screeched you simply spam Rage Fists. Continue to spam Rage Fist until you reach Terrastilize phase. Terra and then spam Rage Fist until the Typhlosion dies. You should be able to take down Typhlosion in a race to the death. Given the solo nature of raiding you can faint multiple times and still complete the fight. Ensure you have a Shell Bell equipped to give you some survivability.

What Items does Typhlosion Drop during the Raid?

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet Typhlosion rewards.
TM114 is one of the rewards you get from Typhlosion.

NOTE: Make a Red Onion, Basil, Sweet Herba Mystica, and Spicy Herba Mystica sandwich before fighting Typhlosion. This sandwich triggers Raid Power: Ghost Level 3 which improves the amount of items received at the end of Ghost Tera Type Raids.

Like other raids Typhlosion drops items when it is caught/defeated. The items Typhlosion can drop are high level Raid items and you get a lot of them. You will not get everything each time you complete the Tera Raid. There is a percentage chance drop rate for each item, which you can find over on Serebii. The list of things you can potentially get from this raid are as follows:

  • Ability Patch.
  • Ability Capsule.
  • Bottle Caps.
  • Rare Candies.
  • Exp Candy L/XL.
  • Protein.
  • Ghost Tera Shards.
  • TM 114 – Shadow Ball.
  • Ability Patch.
  • Star Pieces.
  • Comet Shards.
  • Nugget.
  • PP Up.
  • Mild Mint.

Once you’ve caught Typhlosion once, you are not able to catch it again. You can, however, farm the raid for the items listed above if you so choose. This can be done by changing your system clock or by helping other online players.

That’s all you need to know to complete the Typhlosion Tera Raid in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. This raid is fairly tough and does require you to put come effort into completing. If you are struggling, drop look for people in the comments below to help you.
