As you playthrough Resident Evil Village you will encounter a selection of wild animals. These wild animals can be killed and their meat can be collected. Collecting animal meat unlocks special cooking recipes from the Duke. Giving the Duke ingredients in exchange for the dishes unlocks special bonuses for Ethan. For more details on this system see our Resident Evil Village The Duke’s Kitchen guide below.

What is The Duke’s Kitchen

You unlock the ability to acquire Duke’s cooking dishes after you kill and collect your first piece of animal meat. Once you’ve done this the Duke will have a special option when you speak to him called The Duke’s Kitchen. Picking this option opens up a new screen that features a variety of meals you can receive in exchange for animal meat. The meals are found in the table below.

Where to Find Poultry, Fish, Meat, and Other Ingredients

To make the dishes listed above you need to acquire the ingredients for them. There are a few ingredients in the game that drop off of different sources. Keep in mind that when you encounter an ingredient it will be marked on your map (like the Poultry icon shown above). This makes tracking down ingredients slightly easier. To find all of the different types of ingredients here’s where to look:

  • Poultry: Multiple locations in the Village. Pretty common to encounter.
  • Juicy Game: You need to kill a special blue bird in the Village to get this ingredient. Guide here.
  • Meat: Kill pigs and sheep you encounter. Shown on your map with a sheep symbol. Will find them as you advance the story.
  • Quality Meat: A white pig appears in Elana’s backyard the second time you visit the Village. Kill it to get this ingredient.
  • Fish: Appear in bodies of water. Will be marked on your map with a fish symbol. Watch for bubbles and fire on that spot. Guide Here.
  • Finest Fish: There is a specific fish you need to kill to get this ingredient. Guide here.

That’s all you need to know to get the different ingredients for creating all of the Duke’s different dishes. The more dishes you buy the more powerful Ethan becomes. Spend the time getting these dishes if you are having trouble completing the game.

Does Duke offer more dishes during later playthroughs (completed game play through and beyond)? Basically should I hold on to meats found in later playthroughs or are they worthless?
