Request 17 Overview

  • Requested By: Kichi (Farm in Jubilife Village)
  • Description: “Kichi of the Agriculture Corps wants an explanation for Cherrim’s changeable appearance. He wants to see a completed Pokédex entry for Cherrim.”
  • Target: Cherrim
  • Rewards: Vivichoke x5

Where to Start To Bloom or Not to Bloom (Request 17)

Begin this Request by speaking to Kichi at the Farm in Jubilife Village. He explains his interest in Cherrim’s unusual transformations and asks you to complete its Pokédex entry by reaching Research Level 10. Once the Request begins, prepare for a journey to the Obsidian Fieldlands’ Heights Camp to start your search.

Early Search Locations

Head to the Obsidian Fieldlands and focus on the area called The Heartwood. Look for shaking trees in this area, as both Cherrim and its pre-evolution Cherubi can drop from these trees. Throw a Poké Ball at the tree to knock the Pokémon out. If you catch a Cherubi, you can evolve it into Cherrim at Level 26, giving you another way to progress.

Later Search Locations

For additional opportunities, visit Gapejaw Bog in the Crimson Mirelands. Similar to The Heartwood, shaking trees in this area may yield Cherrim or Cherubi. Keep an eye out for tree activity and be persistent, as these encounters are random and may take time.

Tips to Reach Research Level 10 for Cherrim

To complete Cherrim’s Pokédex entry, you’ll need to perform specific tasks that count toward Research Points. These include:

  • Catching Cherrim (bonus for catching it during daylight hours).
  • Defeating Cherrim in battle.
  • Witnessing Cherrim use the move Petal Dance.
  • Observing Cherrim use an Agile Style move.
  • Encountering Cherrim as it jumps out of a shaking tree.

If you struggle to find Cherrim or Cherubi, try hunting during Outbreaks, as they provide more frequent spawns and increase your chances of finding these elusive Pokémon.

Complete the Request and Claim Your Reward

Once you’ve completed Cherrim’s Pokédex entry by reaching Research Level 10, return to Kichi at the Farm in Jubilife Village. Show him the completed entry, and he will express his amazement at Cherrim’s behavior. With the Request complete, you’ll receive Vivichoke x5 as a reward.
