In NBA 2K18, the ultimate goal in MyCAREER mode is to reach an overall level of 99 with your MyPLAYER. To do this, you’ll need to train and improve your player’s stats and badges. This NBA 2K18 MyPLAYER training guide will walk you through the best ways to level up and make the most of the available resources in NBA 2K18. Whether you’re looking to boost your overall rating or unlock important badges, we’ve got you covered!

1. G Training Facility: Boost Your Stat Caps & Turbo

  • Location: Near the Team Training Facility in the Neighborhood.
  • Purpose: Increase your MyPLAYER’s stat caps and fill your Turbo meter.

The G Training Facility is key to improving your MyPLAYER’s abilities. In NBA 2K18, you’ll find various exercises that contribute to both your stat level caps and your Turbo meter. Some of the most beneficial exercises include:

  • Leg Press
  • Clean Weight
  • Squats
  • Ladders
  • Agility Hurdles
  • Battle Ropes
  • Bench Press
  • Box Jump
  • Sprint
  • Treadmill
  • Dumbbell
  • Medicine Ball
  • Gatorade Reaction (Boosts Badge levels)

By completing these exercises, you’ll increase your stat caps and fill your Turbo meter to 100%. The more you train, the better your MyPLAYER will perform in games. The Agility Hurdles and Gatorade Reaction exercises are especially efficient for boosting your stats.

Tip: If you’re short on time or want to skip the workouts, head over to the Gatorade Fuel Bar to purchase consumables using VC, which provide temporary Turbo boosts.

2. Team Practice Facility: Unlock Badges & Improve Skills

  • Location: Behind the statue at the end of the street.
  • Purpose: Unlock and upgrade badges for your MyPLAYER.

At the Team Practice Facility, you can focus on unlocking badges, which are passive abilities that improve your MyPLAYER’s performance. Unlike regular stat boosts, badges give you an edge over other players and are crucial for improving your overall game. To work on a specific badge, choose drills that focus on the badge you want to upgrade. You can do a maximum of 3 drills per day.

Badges can also be improved during actual games, but the practice facility gives you dedicated time to grind specific ones.

Important: Badges are essential for leveling up efficiently, as they provide passive benefits that make a significant impact in games.

3. Earning VC: The Key to Leveling Up

  • Location: Across multiple activities in MyCAREER mode
  • Purpose: Earn VC to purchase attribute upgrades and other in-game items.

VC (Virtual Currency) is critical for upgrading your MyPLAYER’s attributes and progressing in NBA 2K18. There are two main ways to collect VC:

  • Purchase VC: If you’re willing to spend real money, you can directly purchase VC through the in-game store.
  • Earn VC: Earning VC is the free route. You can do this by participating in:
    • NBA games
    • Pro Am league matches
    • Pickup games in the Neighborhood
    • MyCOURT sessions
    • And other in-game activities

Tip: The Pro Am league and multiplayer modes like the Playground are some of the best ways to earn VC quickly.d.

4. Efficient Training and Grinding Tips

While training is important, it’s just as crucial to focus on the most efficient methods to level up:

  • Balance Drills and Games: Focus on doing the best drills for your badges while also playing in NBA games or Pro Am matches to earn VC.
  • Use VC for Turbo Boosts: If you’re in a rush to max out your Turbo meter, purchasing Turbo boosts at the Gatorade Fuel Bar can save you time.
  • Prioritize Key Badges: Some badges, like shooting or playmaking badges, give a significant edge in games. Focus on those first.

Getting your MyPLAYER to a 99 overall in NBA 2K18 is a time-intensive process, but with the right approach, you can level up efficiently. Utilize the G Training Facility to boost your stats, take advantage of the Team Practice Facility to unlock badges, and earn VC through gameplay to upgrade your MyPLAYER. With dedication, you’ll be well on your way to becoming the ultimate baller.

My issue is i had a shoe deal but kept wearing wrong shoes to get a different shoe deal so once i get new shoe deal & it comes to a point to go to gym practice for recording commercial but now when i try to enter practice gym it loads me back outside. Anyone know the problem?

  5. Tyrone says:

Make sure you’re connected to the internet if not you’ll just be on a generic myplayer mode that looks similar to Mygm. It happened to me, cause I started mycareer without any connection. I had to start a new career and everything eas fine

  6. Marcus Gigandet says:

I am really aggravated, I cannot access the team practice facility, even after playing a NBA game. I cannot add attributes, nor will it allow me to do any training activities.
    What’s going on ?

  7. Alan says:

I can’t access my exercises in my training facility. It was working fine and I would get turbo up to 100% before every game. The last 3 games I cannot access the exercises at all and my turbo is drained to 20%. What is going on?

  8. Hirschi74 says:

I have two big issues with the Training.
First, whenever I finish one of the drills in the G Training Facility, my UI dissapears so I don’t have access anymore to the phone or the Nav. I have to Alt-F4 out of the game wich results in not saving my progress for that training.
Second, I can’t assign any attribute points. I can access the screen, but neither LS nor D-Pad will allow me to increase attributes to a certain skill. Maybe this is related to the 1st Problem.

    • enricofairme says:

Hmmm. Not sure about that. Have you checked out any of the Steam threads to see if others are having the same problem?

      • Hirschi74 says:

Nothing found so far. Even google is clueless 🙂 I postet in the reddit bugs thread now.
For the second issue, it might have to do with crashes at launch and a corrupted save or whatever but since I did not invest any VC in that MyPlayer, I decided to delete him and make a new one. I can now assign skillpoints (yeah) but the G Training Facility Problem persists (booo)

  9. Shun says:

I cant get in the neighborhood need help

  10. Cway says:

    • Hirschi74 says:

When in neighborhood, Press Y or Triangle on PS to the Nav, select that golden rectangle (forgot the name) press A or X on PS, LS one step UP and there you are

  11. Courtney says:

I can’t get to the neighborhood! My son has been playing in career mode but does not see how to get to neighborhood.
