In the Undersea course of New Pokémon Snap you will come across a blocked cave entrance that requires a special Pokémon to access. This blocked path is the level’s alternate route. Accessing this route opens up a special level for you to complete. If you are wondering how to access this alternate route this guide is for you. Below I show you how to unlock Undersea alternate route in New Pokémon Snap.

How to Break Rocks in Undersea Level

The hidden path you can unlock.

When you first encounter the blockage in the Undersea level of New Pokémon Snap it will most likely be on research level 1. Scanning the blockage will tell you that a Pokémon is needed to clear the blockage. Level the Undersea research level to level 2 and unlock the Illumina Orb for the island. Once you’ve reached both requirements listed above you can clear the blockage.

To break the rocks blocking the alternate path start at research level 2 run of the level. When you head towards the blocked path you will see a Clawitzer swimming towards it. As it gets closer hit it with an Illumina Orb. This powers it up allowing it to clear the blocked path. Once the path is clear scan to choose the alternate route.

Alternative Way: Reach Research Level 3

If you don’t want to use the method above there is an laternative way. This way is simply reaching Undersea Research Level 3. Once you’ve reached this level for the path becomes available for you to use. This alternative method is much longer than the one mentioned above.
