How to Summon Deerclops in Terraria

Re-logic and Klei have released the long anticipated Terraria x Don’t Starve crossover event. This event brings new content to both titles with new items, graphics, and bosses. One of the more anticipated boss fights is the addition of Deerclops to Terraria. The guide below will show you how to summon Deerclops in Terraria.

Craft and Use a Deer Thing Item in Snow Biome

To summon the Deerclops you need to create a special item called the Deer Thing. This item can be crafted at a Demon/Crimson Altar using the following materials:

  • 3x Flinx Fur.
  • 5x Demonite/Crimtane Ore.
  • 1x Lens.

Once you gather the materials use the required alter to receive the Deer Thing. Take this boss summon item and head to the Snow Biome in your game. Use the Deer Thing to summon the Deerclops.

Alternative: The Deerclops, like other bosses, has a natural spawn. To potentially encounter this boss while you are exploring the world visit the Snow Biome at Midnight during a Blizzard.

Deerclops Boss

The Deerclops boss is a special pre-hard mode boss that has been added into Terraria thanks to a crossover with Don’t Starve. This boss design comes from Klei and it is a large deer that destroys everything in its path. When you use the Deer Thing item the text “Deerclops has awoken” will appear on your screen. The boss will then appear. When you defeat Deerclops in your game it will drop a variety of Don’t Starve themed items including things like the Eyebrella and Lucy the Axe. The higher the difficulty the better the loot with master mode delivering the best available loot.
