God of War Ragnarok Weapons List

God of War Ragnarok Weapons List

As the ‘god of war’ Kratos brutally defeats his enemies on the battlefield using a variety of weapons. This game’s arsenal is made up of both old and new weapons since this game is a sequel to the 2018 released God of War. If you are wondering what weapons are available in the game, this post is for you. Here’s the Complete God of War Ragnarok weapons list.

Leviathan Axe (Kratos)

Let’s begin with the Leviathan Axe, an iconic weapon that made its debut in God of War (2018). Dwarvish Blacksmiths Brok and Sindri crafted this weapon as a response to their regret over creating Thor’s Hammer. The Leviathan Axe was designed to offset the incredible might of Thor’s hammer.

When Kratos wields this weapon, he can utilize it for both melee and ranged attacks, inflicting frost damage. You can easily recall the axe to your hand by pressing Triangle after throwing it. Kratos begins his journey in God of War Ragnarok with the Leviathan Axe, and it’s possible to enhance it at any blacksmith, granted you possess the required materials.

Blades of Chaos (Kratos)

The Chaos Blades are back!

The Blades of Chaos, arguably the most iconic weapon in the entire God of War Series, make a comeback in God of War Ragnarok. Kratos acquired these chain-mounted blades during God of War (2018), and because they play a crucial role in the storyline, Kratos starts the game with the Blades of Chaos already in his possession.

The Blades of Chaos inflict fire damage and offer versatility for both melee and ranged combat. Unlike the axe, which requires manual retrieval after each ranged attack, the blades return automatically. You can upgrade this weapon at any blacksmith, provided you possess the required materials.

Draupnir Spear (Kratos)

The Draupnir Spear is a new weapon to the series.

The Draupnir Spear is a new weapon you can unlock in the game during Chapter 10: Forging Destiny. In this quest, Kratos and Brok embark on a mission to acquire this powerful weapon, which has Wind as its base element.

What makes the Draupnir Spear stand out is its ability to change into fire or frost, thanks to its siphoning feature. This allows you to adapt your combat style to various situations.

Additionally, the spear can be thrown and detonated, producing explosive effects that can shift the dynamics of battle. You can also upgrade the spear like other weapons by using the required materials.

Once you have the Draupnir Spear, you can get the Mystical Heirloom Relic, which triggers several secret boss fights. Defeating these bosses grants you a special armor set, enhancing your gameplay.

Companion Weapons (Atreus + Freya)

You can equip different weapons on your companions. Here’s changing Freya’s swords.

Both the companies in the game Atreus and Freya wield some sort of weapon to aid Kratos. Atreus wields a Bow as his main weapon. Throughout the story he will receive different bows from certain people. These bows cannot be upgraded. Freya is a bit different. Freya uses a sword that can be upgraded. Additionally she has a special Favor attached to finding her a new weapon in the end game.
