Entropic Shards Locations – Destiny 2 Beyond Light Guide

Destiny 2 splash image.

Once you’ve completed the main story in Destiny 2 Beyond Light you will unlock a number of missions to complete in the expansions end-game. These missions range from things like Exotics to simple gear missions and other side quests. One mission you will unlock from the Exo Stranger is the Aspects of Control mission. To complete this mission you need to find a total of five of nine possible Entropic Shards. To learn where to find each of these shards see our guide below.

Note: Be sure you have the Salvation’s Grip exotic before trying to complete this quest. Need to shoot the shards with this weapon.

Entropic Shard 1: Vex Structure (Asterion Abyss)

This Entropic Shard can be found in the Asterion Abyss area of Europa. Make your way to the large vex structure in the center of the area and climb the northwest end of it. The shard is there next to some ice.

Entropic Shard 2: Concealed Void Lost Sector (Asterion Abyss)

Make your way to the end of the Concealed Void Lost Sector in Asterion Abyss so you reach the boss room. Inside this room in the center there is a bright light shining down through a hole in the ceiling. Look up into the light to find this Entropic Shard.

Entropic Shard 3: Ruined Building Exterior (Eventide Ruins)

You will find this Entropic Shard in the southwest corner of the Eventide Ruins. Look for the large rubble of the building and you will find it underneath a destroyed set of pipes and a catwalk. Can be seen from off the main path running from Asterion Abyss into Eventide Ruins.

Entropic Shard 4: Bunker E15 Lost Sector (Eventide Ruins)

Make your way into the Bunker 15 Lost Sector in Eventide Ruins. Head through the Lost Sector until you reach the first large open room. Look up for so you are facing the large glass window above. On the right corner of the window is the Entropic Shard.

Entropic Shard 5: Underneath Stairs (RIIS Reborn Approach)

Go through RIIS Reborn Approach until you reach the room you enter after riding the second gravitational lift up. In this room go behind the stairs and you will find the Entropic Shard underneath them.

Entropic Shard 6: Rooftop Stairs (Kell’s Rising)

Reach the end of the Kell’s Rising area so you walk across the pipe and are on the rooftop. Here get on top of the smaller roof on your right (when pipe is behind you). On top of this rooftop you will find the shard beneath the only set of stairs there.

Entropic Shard 7: Boss Room (Technocrat’s Iron)

Go to the end of the Technocrat’s Iron area so you reach the boss room. Inside the boss room the Entropic Shard can be found floating next to the pillar on your right as soon as you enter.

Entropic Shard 8: Near Brey Exoscience Entrance (Cadmus Ridge)

Head to the entrance of Brey Exoscience but don’e go inside. Instead go to the north of it. In this little area where the Forsaken spawn you can find the Entropic Shard sitting in the snow.

Entropic Shard 9: Bottom Floor of Creation

The final ninth shard is located inside the Creation area which is accessible from the Brey Exoscience building. Inside this area head all the way down to the large open green and white room. Just beneath the first walkway in this room you will find the Entropic Shard floating in the air.

To complete the Aspects of Control mission you only need to destroy any five of the nine shards listed above. With that said if you wish to unlock the Studying Darkness Triumph you will want to snag all nine of them. Since collecting a shard scores you a ton of seasonal XP I would recommend grabbing them all since it is easy to do so.
