Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Moore Quest Guide
The Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Moore quest is a unique questline in the DLC, featuring multiple outcomes and rewards. Navigating through these branching paths can be challenging, but our Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Moore quest guide will help you complete it effectively.
Step 1: Meet Moore at the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace
You first encounter Moore at the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace, where he’s seated to the southwest among several boxes and barrels. Speak with him to learn about his mission to find items that can assist others and about his Forager Brood scattered throughout the Realm of Shadow.
Optional: If you go to Thiollier and speak to him then return to Moore he gives you the Black Syrup item. You can then give this syrup to Thiollier in exchange for Thiollier’s Concoction which can be used on the Dragon Communion Priestess.
*If you don’t want to do Moore’s full quest but still want his gear, you can get him to invade you. To do this, track down two of the six Broods in the Realm of Shadows and kill them. Moore will invade you as a dark spirit on the second kill. Defeat him to receive his loot (minus his Bell Bearing). Go back to Moore’s spot at the Main Gate to get the Moore’s Bell Bearing.
Step 2: After the Great Rune is Destroyed
Once the Great Rune is destroyed, return to Moore and talk to him. He will ask for guidance on what he should do next, presenting you with three choices:
- Put it Behind You
- Remain Sad Forever
- I Don’t Know
What you choose here will determine Moore’s fate for your playthrough. If you need more time to decide, select I Don’t Know. This will keep Moore at the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace until you return and give him an answer. Read the outcomes below to learn more.
Warning: Before doing either quest outcome, make sure to collect all the Brood Cookbooks. There is a special hidden one that you can get by helping a frozen, unresponsive Brood and then speaking to Moore. Refer to our Brood Locations guide for details.
Outcome 1: Put it Behind You
Choosing the “Put it behind you”option causes Moore to leave the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace after you refresh the area. He will then appear as one of Leda’s allies in the her boss fight in Enir-Ilim. Defeat him during the fight, and loot his body afterward.
Outcome 2: Remain Sad Forever
Choosing the “Remain sad forever” option causes Moore to leave the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace after you refresh the area. He will go to the Brood north of the Church of the Crusade. Here you will find him dead lying next to it. Loot his body to receive his items.
What Items Does Moore Drop?
Regardless of which quest outcome you choose for Moore, you’ll receive the same rewards. Moore drops the following items when he is either defeated or looted:
- Moore’s Bell Bearing
- Verdigris Greatshield
- Verdigris Helm
- Verdigris Armor
- Verdigris Gauntlets
- Verdigris Greaves
