Elden Ring Blaidd Quest Guide

Blaidd is an NPC in Elden Ring that players can encounter. This NPC is a large wolf that is the right hand of another NPC named Ranni. You can meet Blaidd fairly early in the game which allows you to complete a number of activities with him. To learn more here’s a complete Elden Ring Blaidd Quest guide.

Howling in the Mistwood Ruins

The first time you can meet Blaidd is in the Mistwood Ruins in Limgrave. The ruins are located in the southeast on the road leading to Fort Haight. Go to the ruins and you will hear howling. Once you hear howling speak to the merchant at the Church of Elleh named Merchant Kale. He has a new dialogue option where you can ask about the howling in the ruins. He gives you the Finger Snap gesture.

Go back to the Mistwood Ruins and use the Finger Snap gesture on the very northside of the ruins. This makes Blaidd jump down from the top of the ruins. Speak to Blaidd to learn a bit about him. He is looking for a man named Darriwl who has fled nearby.

Fight Darriwil in Forlorn Hound Evergaol

The target Blaidd is hunting can be located at the Forlorn Hound Evergaol. This location is found in Limgrave. Go to the evergaol and go inside it. You will find Blaidd’s summon there. Summon Blaidd and defeat the Forlorn Hound. Outside of the fight speak to Blaidd. He gives you a Somber Smithing Stone for your help.

Keep talking to him and he will tell you about a blacksmith north of Raya Lucaria. The blacksmith he speaks of is Iji who is found on the northern Liurnia shores along the path just after the illusory wall in the Kingsrealm Ruins. Speak to Iji and tell him Blaidd sent you to unlock the Carian Filigreed Crest talisman for purchase (5,000 Runes).

Meet Blaidd in Siofra River During Ranni’s Quest

Blaidd is heavily attached to the witch named Ranni. Ranni has her own questline that ties in Blaidd. To meet Blaidd again start Ranni’s questline. Agree to help the witch when she asks and you will be told to meet Blaidd in the Siofra River. Go to the river by using the Siofra River Well.

When you are in the river Blaidd is located in the southeast under the bridge at the map marker shown above. Speak to him here and he will ask you to go and talk to Preceptor Seluvis, tells you to talk to Sorceress Sellen. Speak to both then return to Blaidd. He then tells you to meet him at Redmane Castle for the festival.

Meet Blaidd in Redmane Castle and Defeat Starscourge Radahn

Make your way to Redmane Castle in Caelid. Inside the castle the festival is in full swing. Go into the plaza and speak to Blaidd there. When you are ready to fight speak to the man on the wall and he tell him your ready to fight. Complete the Starscourge Radahn boss fight and speak to Blaidd afterwards. He tells you to meet him where the star hit the earth.

Find Blaidd in the Forlorn Hound Evergaol

Note: You can speak to Iji before or after encountering Blaidd to learn why he trapped him in the evergaol.

Blaidd never makes it to the impact location. Instead he gets trapped by Iji inside of the Forlorn Hound Evergaol. Return to this location and stand on the center circle. Press talk to speak to Blaidd. You are then presented a choice to Open the evergaol or not open it. If you open it you let me him out.

Defeat Blaidd at Ranni’s Rise

You don’t encounter Blaidd again until you complete Ranni’s questline. Once that quest is complete go back to Ranni’s Rise. Head outside and you will find a red phantom Blaidd. Defeat Blaidd to receive his almost complete armor set and greatsword. The helmet/mask for the set is located on a corpse on the wall next to Seluvis’s Rise.
