In the Stardew Valley update 1.6, a variety of exciting features were introduced, including the new artisan good: Raisins. Crafted using the Dehydrator, Raisins offer players several valuable uses that enhance gameplay. This guide will cover everything you need to know about acquiring Raisins, their benefits, and how to use them effectively in your farming journey. Dive in to discover how to make the most of this sweet addition to your farm!

How to Make Raisins

To craft Raisins in Stardew Valley, you first need a Dehydrator. You can acquire the recipe from Pierre for 10,000g or win it as the 12th prize from the Prize Machine in the Mayor’s Manor (50% chance). If you select the mushroom cave at the beginning of the game, you’ll receive a Dehydrator automatically.

After obtaining the Dehydrator, you may need to craft it if you didn’t purchase the recipe. Here’s the crafting recipe:

  • 30 Wood
  • 2 Clay
  • 1 Fire Quartz

Once you have the Dehydrator set up on your farm, gather 5 Grapes to start making Raisins. Grapes can be obtained through:

  • Foraging in Summer: Found in the Backwoods, Mountain, Bus Stop, Railroad, and Forest Farm Map.
  • Grape Starters: Purchase from Pierre’s General Store, JojaMart, or the Magic Shop Boat at the Night Market on Winter 17. You may also find them occasionally at the Traveling Cart or create them using a Seed Maker.

When you have 5 Grapes of the same quality, place them in the Dehydrator. For example, if you’re using Gold Quality grapes, all 5 must be Gold Quality. After 29 in-game hours, you’ll have delicious Raisins ready for use!

What to Do With Raisins

Once you’ve crafted Raisins, you might be curious about how to use them effectively. Here are some key options:

  • Eat Raisins: Restores 125 Energy and 56 Health.
  • Sell Raisins: Each Raisin sells for 600g, making them a profitable choice.
  • Gift Raisins: Great as gifts; Evelyn especially loves them.
  • Dyeing: Use as a purple dye at dye pots in Emily’s and Haley’s house at 2 Willow Lane.

You can also place Raisins in a Junimo Hut to double the harvest of nearby crops, as hinted in Secret Notes #24 and #26. The Junimos have a 20% chance to do this and consume one bag of Raisins each week (except in Winter).
