Resident Evil 4 Remake Pest Control 2 Guide
Resident Evil 4 Remake Pest Control 2 is the second of the Pest Control Merchant Requests players can complete. This request becomes available to players during Chapter 9. When this quest is available, players must find and kill rats throughout the level. To help you complete this request see our full guide below.
Pest Control 2 Request Location
At the beginning of Chapter 9 you will enter the Great Lobby of the Castle. In this area you will find the Headless Statue, which is a story objective. To the left of this statue is the door leading to the Dining Hall. Next to the Dining Hall door, on the wall, is the Pest Control 2 Request. It has the following details.
- Request: Exterminate all the rats.
- Area: Grand Hall & Library.
- Reward: Spinel x3
To earn the reward you need to find all 3 Rats and kill them. This is fairly easy to do as you will encounter them as you go about completing the main story objectives.
Rat 1
The first rat is located in the Dining Hall. When you first enter the room you will see it walking around near the Caged Serpent Statue. Shoot it to earn 1/3 Progress.

Rat 2
The next rat is located in the hallway you go down after completing the Armory section. It is running around near where the chest containing the Cubic Device is located. Kill it to get 2/2 progress.
Rat 3
The final rat can only be found after completing Chapter 9 and starting Chapter 10. When you start the Chapter 10 you can now enter the Library. Before reaching the Library you will go down a hallway. After you crouch under the desk you will find the final rat walking around.
Once you have completed the rat killing head back to the merchant and speak to him. He will give you the reward for completing the request which is 3x Spinel. Spinel can be used to trade for certain things that are unobtainable otherwise.
