Remnant 2 The Red Prince
In Remnant 2 The Red Prince is a boss players can encounter in the Gilded Chamber biome of Losomn. Unlike other boss fights in the game, The Red Prince gives players the chance to not fight him. The Red Prince Choices in Remnant 2
The Red Prince is located at the very end of the Gilded Chamber in the throne room. When you enter this room there is a cutscene and the start of an interaction. During this interaction you have the chance to not fight The Red Prince by offering him a worthy tribute.
The worthy tribute The Red Prince requests is paid using the Crimson King Coin quest item. This quest item is dropped off Teleport Fae enemies in the biome. To ensure you can make either decision with The Red Prince you need to have at least 3 Crimson King Coins in your inventory. If you don’s have enough reload the area and go through it again.
There are three possible choices you can make with The Red Prince:
- Sure. Here is your tribute [Give 3+ Coins] – No boss fight, but you ‘die.’
- Sure. Here is your tribute [Give 2 or less Coins] – Boss fight.
- I am not your subject. I will not pay a tribute. – Boss fight.
Depending on what you select determines whether or not you fight The Red Prince. Further details on the selections are listed below, so you have a more general idea of what happens.
What Happens if You Fight The Red Prince in Remnant 2
If you pay a meager tribute (2 or less coins) or refuse paying the tribute all together you will trigger the boss fight against The Red Prince. The Red Prince fight is fairly challenging to complete, and has to be done to continue the main storyline.
If you normally beat The Red Prince you receive the Forlorn Fragment material among other rewards. Additionally the path to the Soulkey Tribute opens, allowing you to advance the storyline.
Alt Kill: There is an alternative way to defeat The Red Prince. This method requires using the Assassin’s Dagger to deliver the killing blow. Doing this rewards the player with the Crown of the Red Prince helmet.
What Happens if You Don’t Fight The Red Prince in Remnant 2
If you pay a full tribute (3+ coins) The Red Prince will accept your offering. In place of the boss fight you are killed by The Red Prince’s shadows. You then reappear at the nearest checkpoint.
Going this route allows you to receive the Bloody Steel Splinter material. Additionally the path to the Soulkey Tribute opens, allowing you to advance the storyline.
Completing this boss fight or paying the full tribute at least once unlocks The Red Prince square on the Oracle of the Dran’s quilt. .
