The Chest Form can be found on top of the 13 Watchtowers in Paldea and in other hard to reach locations. When the you find a Chest Form you can fight it. When one is defeated or caught the player receives a bundle of coins that can be anywhere from 50-80 coins.

The other form is Roaming Form. This form works a bit different than Chest Form as you don’t actually fight this Pokemon. Instead you simply interact with them, when found, to get 1-6 Gimmighoul Coins. This Pokemon appears all over including on things like rocksWatchtowerssigns, Pokemon Centers, Benches, and other random locations.

Pick Up Shiny Items

The last method of acquiring Gimmighoul Coins is picking up random shiny objects you encounter out in the world. This method is the least efficient as there is some randomness to it. If you are lucky you can get a bundle of coins in the 20ish range, but it varies in amount.

The best approach to reach 999 Gimmighoul Coins is to visit all of the 13 Watchtowers and collect the coins there. Once you’ve done that focus on the hard to reach locations in the game to find a few more of the Chest Forms. Doing this should easily get you the needed 999 Gimmighoul Coins.

Gholdengo is #392 in your Pokedex. This Pokemon must be caught or traded for if you are going for full Pokedex completion.

Get Extra Coins from the Janitor

In the city of Medali in West Province (Area Three) there is an NPC that is a janitor. This NPC is located in the alleyway behind the amphitheater. When you speak to this NPC he mentions having found coins as he was cleaning. These coins are the extra coins you’ve collected above x999. This means you want to speak to him after spending your coins to see if he has any extra coins for you.
