Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Bloodmoon Ursaluna

In the Teal Mask DLC of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Bloodmoon Ursaluna is a very special Pokemon players can acquire. This Pokemon is incredibly rare and involves putting in some serious effort to attain. To learn more about the Bloodmoon Ursaluna and how to get one for yourself, see our guide below.

How to Get the Bloodmoon Ursaluna Pokemon in the Teal Mask DLC

To get the Bloodmoon Ursaluna Pokemon players need to catch a total of 150 Pokemon in the Kitakami Pokedex. Once players have done this they unlock a special questline from Perrin the photographer in Mossui Town. Speak to her in the west side of town to learn she is tracking down the Bloodmoon Ursaluna and needs your help in finding it.

Battle Perrin and Win

Following this request Perrin asks to battle you to see how strong you are and whether you can join her. Perrin uses the following Pokemon during this battle:

Noctowl (Lv. 68).
Leafeon (Lv. 70).

Once you’ve defeated both Pokemon listed above the battle ends. After the fight you receive 3920 in prize money. Additionally you also get the right to join Perrin’s hunt for the Bloodmoon Beast.

Look for the Bloodmoon Ursaluna in the Timeless Woods

Perrin tells you that the Bloodmoon Beast was last spotted in the Timeless Woods area. She goes ahead and waits for you there. Make your way to this location in northeast Kitakami and speak to Perrin there. Perrin tells you that the Bloodmoon Beast only appears at night when it is foggy. Following this revelation you are attacked by a Ariados. Defeat it to continue the story cutscene during which you setup camp.

Speak to Perrin again after you’ve setup the tent (which happens in the cutscene mentioned above). Talk to her when you are ready to advance to a foggy night and select ready to begin the survey work of taking pictures of Pokemon.

Complete Photo Survey

To complete this part walk around the Timeless Woods and snap pictures of Pokemon you encounter. You need a total of 10 unique species photos before you can end the survey. Each time you snap a photo of a Pokemon successfully Perrin will tell you where to look for more.

Upon completing the survey you will see another quest cutscene. In this cutscene you will learn the location of the Bloodmoon Beast. Tell Perrin you are ready to go hunt for it.

Defeat Bloodmoon Ursaluna and Capture it

Perrin and the trainer will walk deeper into the Timeless Woods. As they do they are attacked by the Bloodmoon Ursaluna. This triggers a fight similar to the Legendary Titan Pokemon fights you completed during the DLC’s campaign. Defeat Ursaluna during this fight and you are able to catch it afterwards.

That’s all you need to know to get the Bloodmoon Ursaluna in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. To finish up the quest head back to Mossui Town and speak to Perrin there. She thanks you for helping her out and gives you the Choice Scarf and a special Hisuian Growlithe.
