If you are like me you played and loved Team Cherry’s Hollow Knight back in 2017 you’ve been waiting patiently for the follow-up title Hollow Knight Silksong. This previously announced DLC content has ballooned in-scope leading to it becoming its own standalone. Thankfully after year’s of waiting we have a new Hollow Knight Silksong trailer and possibly a release window.

When is the Hollow Knight Silksong Release Date?

The new trailer was released during the Xbox and Bethesda 2022 showcase held earlier today. The trailer shows new gameplay of the upcoming title from Team Cherry. This new game sees players take on the role of Hornet, an NPC/boss from the base game. This standalone sequel has been expected since 2019, but the studio behind it, Team Cherry has been quiet on all fronts. This marks the first major reveal since the game’s announcement trailer back in 2019.

New trailer aside there was also some interesting details regarding the Hollow Knight Silksong release date. While there is nothing concrete Xbox claims that games shown during the showcase will release in the next 12 months. When pressed further about the Silksong reveal by a fan Xbox said “That’s exactly what we said.”

Further solidifying the release window was a comment from Xbox head of global gaming Sarah Bond, who confirmed the 12 months target for the game. Keep in mind this confirmation runs slightly contrary to graphics shown by Xbox. The graphics showed the lineup of games for the next 12 months, with Hollow Knight: Silksong missing from it.
