Legendary Golden Spirit Bear Guide for Red Dead Online
In the October 6th reset of Red Dead Online, Rockstar introduced a new Legendary Animal sighting mission through Harriet. This new mission involves hunting the Legendary Golden Spirit Bear. Where to Start the Legendary Golden Spirit Bear Sighting Mission
Important: Before starting the mission, ensure you have plenty of tranquilizers or ammunition to deal with this formidable creature. Once you’re well-equipped, you’re ready to begin.
To start the Legendary Golden Spirit Bear sighting mission, head to one of the following locations to find Harriet:
- Northwest of Lagras
- West of Wallace Station
- Northeast of Macfarlane’s Ranch
Approach Harriet at any of these spawn locations, select the mission option, and you will receive the Legendary Golden Spirit Bear sighting mission. This will take you to the Big Valley area where you will search for this rare animal.
How to Complete the Legendary Golden Spirit Bear Sighting
This sighting mission follows a familiar formula. After you spawn into the Big Valley area, complete the following steps:
- Visit a campsite that has been attacked by the Legendary Golden Spirit Bear.
- Find clues related to the bear.
- Follow the trail to the next location.
- Find more clues of the bear’s whereabouts.
- Follow the trail to the next area.
- Find more clues to continue tracking the bear.
- Follow the trail again to locate the bear’s lair.
The bear’s lair is hidden inside an old mine shaft. When you discover it, a cutscene will trigger, and the Legendary Golden Spirit Bear will appear.
After the cutscene, you will have to defeat both the bear and some poachers. Once both threats are neutralized, skin or sample the Legendary Golden Spirit Bear to complete the mission.
Legendary Golden Spirit Bear Rewards
You can choose between two different reward tracks, depending on how you handle the bear:
- If you kill the bear and skin it, you can sell its materials to Gus to craft the Golden Spirit Coat. This requires the Legendary Golden Spirit Bear Pelt and costs $915.
- If you use the tranquilizer gun to subdue the bear, you’ll collect a sample instead of a pelt. Take this sample to Harriet to receive Naturalist XP and normal XP.
To fully complete your Animal Field Guide, you’ll need to complete the mission twice—once by killing the bear and once by tranquilizing it to collect both entries for the Legendary Golden Spirit Bear.
