Legendary Animal Outfits in Red Dead Redemption 2
In the world of Red Dead Redemption 2 there are a ton of animals for you to hunt, but not all of them are created equally. Legendary Animals are rare, hard to find creatures which reward Arthur with sought after animal parts for crafting. These rare parts can be used to make legendary animal outfits in Red Dead Redemption 2. To show you how to do this, check out our legendary animal outfit guide below.
Hunt and Skin Legendary Animals
Legendary animals are introduced during the Exit Pursued by a Bruised Ego mission in which you and Hosea hunt a legendary bear. During this mission Hosea gives you a map showing all the territories of the various legendary animals you can hunt. To get legendary animal outfits you are going to need hunt and skin legendary animals to get their parts. If you need help tracking down these creatures, checkout our guide here.
Take Legendary Skin to Trapper
The Trapper will buy all of your animal materials.
Once you’ve skinned a legendary animal, take its animal material to the Trapper. The Trapper can be found across the open world as well as at his shop in Saint Denis. To ensure the Trapper uses your legendary material, you need to sell it to him. Once you’ve sold him the material, his outfits will become available for purchase.
What Legendary Outfits are There?
You will find the legendary animal outfits under the Garment Sets.
The Trapper has a wide array of legendary animal outfits for you to purchase from him and they all look pretty sweet. You can find the sets under the Garment Sets menu. Below I will show you exactly what legendary animal outfits there are as well as their crafting costs below:
The Bear Hunter (Total Outfit Cost: $117)
The Bear Hunter is one of the legendary animal outfits you can get in RDR2.
To get The Bear Hunter Set you need to create the following pieces at the Trapper:
- Legendary Bear Head Hat: 1x Legendary Bear Pelt, $40.
- Legendary Bear Coat: 1x Legendary Bear Pelt, 1x Perfect Bison Pelt, $28.00.
- Legendary Bear Roper: 1x Legendary Bear Roper, 1x Perfect Bull Hide, $34.00.
- Boar Riding Gloves: 1x Perfect Boar Pelt, 2x Perfect Rabbit Pelt, $15.00

Can you get legendary animals more than once? Because some of these require two different legendary pelts for one item.
I’m not sure if you can kill the animal more than once. I do know once you get a single legendary pelt, you don’t need any more to be able to craft multiple items with that pelt. So 1 pelt can be used for multiple items (not sure if there’s a limit)
I was wondering this too. Got the legendary alligator vest and boots. Now need another legendary alligator skin for the hat and I don’t have one. ?
you only need one skin from each legendary animal to make every item using that skin, so you can make everything that uses the alligator skin with one alligator skin
How do you craft the Legendary Coyote Half Chaps when it requires 2 legendary fox pelts. I only received 1 pelt from a legendary fox, do they respawn? If so, how long does it take, or what do you have to do to respawn it quickly?
i misread it, it says perfect fox pelt. I thought it said Legendary Fox Pelt
