How to Turn on Crossplay in Borderlands 3
There was a big update today in Borderlands 3 that added a number of additions to the game including Crossplay. With Crossplay added players on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Mac, Stadia, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store can play together. So how do you do it. The guide below shows you how to turn on Crossplay in Borderlands 3.
Crossplay Option Location in Borderlands 3
After you download the update make your way to the starting screen of Borderlands 3. Here you will see a screen that mentions Crossplay. This screen will give you the option to opt in or out for the system. Decide if you want to use Crossplay or not on this screen and make your selection.
If you missed the above mentioned screen for some reason there is another way to turn off and on Crossplay. This options is located in the Options menu. Go to Options then select Networks & Social. Here there is a toggle you can use to turn off and on Crossplay. Note when playing Crossplay there are some caveats regarding your name:
- Unique name not already in use by another Borderlands 3 player
- 3-16 characters long
- Start with a letter, and is limited to a-z, A-Z, 0-9, or non-consecutive underscore, hyphen, or period/full-stop characters
Keep in mind the naming conventions listed above. If you fail to meet them you will not be able to play Crossplay. With that said the requirements should be easy to meet.
