How to Reach Mt Gelmir in Elden Ring

There are a number of regions for players to visit in Elden Ring. One of the more hidden away regions is Mt Gelmir. Mt Gelmir is located to the north of the Atlas Plateau. The main path the Mt Gelmir has a bridge that is destroyed. You have to use an alternative route. Thankfully there are two. To learn how to reach Mt Gelmir in Elden Ring use our guide below.

Path 1: Near Atlas Plateau Starting Area

To reach Mt Gelmir you can use a secret path in the Atlas Plateau. To get to this path make your way to the Erdtree-Gazing Hill Site of Grace which is located along the western boarder of the Atlas Plateau. This is the second Site of Grace after the Abandoned Coffin Site of Grace from the mountain pass. If you used the Grand Lift of Dectus head directly north from that location and you will reach the Site of Grace that way.

Once you are at the Erdtree-Gazing Hill Site of Grace look to the north to see statue on the cliffside. Go to the statue. From the statue turn to the west. Go west through Wyndham Ruins and you will see a river path behind it going to the north. Along the river is a Site of Grace. This Site of Grace is Seethewater River. The red line on the map above shows the route.

You are technically now in the Mt Gelmir section of the world. From here keep heading north along the river. The path to the summit is fairly long, but rather obvious. At the peek you will find the Volcano Manor.

Path 2: Abductor Virgin in Academy of Raya Lucario

Important: Keep in mind there is a very hard two boss fight in this section so I wouldn’t recommend this route.

In the Academy of Raya Lucario there is a special Abductor Virgin enemy. This enemy is accessible by riding the waterwheel next to the Schoolhouse Classroom Site of Grace to the very bottom. At the bottom the Abductor Virgin is waiting for you. During the fight let the Abductor Virgin defeat you by placing you inside them. If this happens you will be transported to the Subterranean Inquisition Chamber. After the bosses are defeated you will emerge above the Seethewater River Site of Grace at the base of Mt Gelmir.

Path 3: Find Rya’s Necklace then Speak to Her in Altus Plateau

You can teleport directly to Volcano Manor at the top of Mt Gelmir by completing a side quest for Rya. Rya is first located in Liurnia. She had her necklace stolen by a bandit. Retrieve the necklace and Rya will move to the Altus Plateau at either the top of the Grand Lift of Dectus (if you used the medallion) or in the Lux Ruins (if you went the mountain path route). Speak to Rya and she offers to teleport you to the top of Mt Gelmir.
