It’s almost time. That’s right, the long awaited Red Dead Redemption 2 is just days from being released. With only a few days to go, Rockstar has opened up preloading for their sprawling western and I’m gonna show you how to go about doing it. Below you will find out how to preload Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4.

Note: You need to have purchased the digital version of Red Dead Redemption 2 to be able to preload. Without having this purchased, you cannot access the preload. Make sure you have the game purchased before reading further.

How to Preload Red Dead Redemption 2

After you’ve purchased a digital copy of Red Dead Redemption 2, make your way to your homescreen on your PS4. On the homescreen, scroll to your Library. Access the Library to see all your games. Make your way down to the Purchased tab to see everything you’ve purchased. On the Purchased menu, scroll until you find Red Dead Redemption 2. Select Red Dead Redemption 2 to be taken to a window showing different links for the game.

You should see an option to start downloading the game here (along with all its preorder DLC). Select download to start the 92.8 GB download. As the download is running you will see Red Dead Redemption 2 appear on your homescreen. Once the preload is complete, you will need to wait for the game to launch on Friday (October 26th).
