How to Get the Perico Pistol in GTA Online
The Cayo Perico Heist update for GTA Online added a number of new additions to the popular Rockstar made online title. These additions included a submarine, new vehicles, a new heist, and new guns. Get Small Key From Sleeping Guard World Event
Note: Can be found in invite only sessions as well.
Before you can get the Perico Pistol you need to collect a key. This key can be found in the free roam sleeping guard event. The event itself will pink on your mini-map if you are close to it. To complete this world event approach the sleeping guard and loot his body. When you do this you will receive the Small Key item. This item will open a lock during the Cayo Perico Heist. Do keep in mind this event is rng based, so you will want to look around the world. Some locations to check in the open world are:
- Hen House in Paleto Bay.
- By Movie Theater.
- Around garage at Tinsel Tower.
- Seafood Diner along highway north of military base.
I personally encountered the event at the seafood diner off the highway. The guard was sleeping next to the stairs. Once you have the small key it is time to do the heist. Let me know of other locations where you encountered this event and I will add them.
Loot Perico Pistol from El Rubio’s Desk
The main task in the Cayo Perico Heist is to loot documents from El Rubio. These documents are held in a safe in a room beneath El Rubio’s office. The Perico Pistol can be found inside the desk of El Rubio’s office. The building housing the office is the central one in the mansion. You will see it marked on the map in yellow when you need to reach the basement. Once inside the office approach the desk and use the Small Key to the desk drawer on the right side. Inside this drawer you will find the golden Perico Pistol.
A couple of notes on getting this pistol. The pistol itself will unlock for you once you collect it. You do not need to finish the heist. Second there is only one unlock per key. This means others in your group will have to get their own key to unlock the weapon for themselves.
What is The Perico Pistol
The Perico Pistol is a single-shot golden pistol that is a reference to the classic James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun. In the film the villian, Francisco Scaramanga (played by Christopher Lee), uses a solid gold gun that only fires one bullet. Just found the sleeping guard outside the Singletons nightclub in Downtown Vinewood.
3 more locations: in front of Bahama Mama’s; alleyway with painting equipment just east of Legion Square (same alley as entrance to Mission Row nightclub; by the entrance to the bar just north of the Pacific bank in Vinewood. You also get $7007 for robbing the guy and while you need only get the key once the event repeats and it’s an easy way to score 7 grand.
I found mine in front of the O.O.T. (Out Of Towners) building on the right side of the Pleasute Pier, heading towards the water from the city. Just another location to add to the list, thank you for your write up!
