How to Get Hat Pikachus in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield

There was a bit of news announced today regarding Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. Both of these titles are getting a new expansion called The Crown of Tundra near the end of October. Alongside this expansion there is some new content players can experience leading up the the DLCs release. One piece of content (or should I say eight) is the ability to get eight special Pikachus wearing a variety of hats in-game. All Hat Pikachu Codes

To get the different hat wearing pikachus in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield you need to input codes. These Mystery Gift codes are for different hat wearing pikachus from a variety of moments in Pokemon. The codes for each of the pikachus are as follows:

  • P1KACHUGET – Original Cap Pikachu
  • 1CH00SEY0U – Pokemon: I Choose You Cap Pikachu
  • P1KAADVANCE – Hoenn Cap Pikachu
  • V0LTTACKLEP1KA – Sinnoh Cap Pikachu
  • P1KABESTW1SH – Unova Cap Pikachu
  • KAL0SP1KA – Kalos Cap Pikachu

These two pikachus are the only ones currently available. As more are released I will update this page accordingly. How to Input Pikachu Hat Codes

Like other codes in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield you will want to head in-game to input the codes above. Once you are in-game follow these steps to get the pikachus you desire:

  1. Go to Mystery Gift on the X menu.
  2. Select Get a Mystery Gift.
  3. Select Get with Code/Password to connect to the internet.
  4. Enter your password.
  5. Watch as the gift arrives in your game. (Pokémon will appear in your party or your Pokémon Boxes.)
  6. Be sure to save your game.

Keep in mind these codes are only available up until November 30, 2020, at 6:59 a.m. PST so you will want to act fast. Also note you do not need to own either of the expansions to get these special pikachus, just the base game.
