How to Access Remnant 2 DLC Items

Remnant 2, the follow-up title to Remnant: From the Ashes is out now and with it comes a bunch of pre-order and edition DLC items for players to access when they start the game. These pre-order and edition items range from an early class archetype unlock to different specialty armor sets. To help you access everything owed to you here’s a quick guide showing how to access Remnant 2 DLC items.

Remnant 2 Pre-Order and Edition Bonuses

Before we dive right into how you unlock every DLC item for this game it’s important that you know exactly what’s available for players to get. There is a Pre-Order Bonus available for players that purchase the game early and various Edition bundles that contain different items and packs. The possible items you can get are as follows:

Pre-Order Bonus

  • Early Unlock of Gunslinger Archetype.

Standard Edition Content

  • Base Game.
  • No additional items.

Deluxe Edition Content

  • Base Game.
  • 3x Remnant From the Ashes Armor Sets.

Ultimate Edition Content

How to Play Remnant 2 Ultimate Edition Early Access

If you purchased the Ultimate Edition of Remnant 2 you will receive access to the game 3 days early. This means you can start playing the game on July 21/22 depending on where you live. The official Remnant 2 Early Access Start Date & Time start times across the globe’s various time zones are:

  • CDT: 6pm on July 21.
  • EDT: 7pm on July 21.
  • BST: 12am on July 22.
  • CEST: 1am on July 22.
  • HKT: 7am on July 22.
  • JST: 8am on July 22.
  • AEST: 9am on July 22.
  • NZST: 11am on July 22.

Players can preload the game ahead of the times listed above to be able to jump into the game right when it goes live. To preload simply login to the platform you purchased the Ultimate Edition on and you will see a prompt to early download the game.

Remnant 2 is roughly 80GB in size which means you may need to spend a few hours/days downloading the title depending on your internet speeds. Once it is preloaded/loaded simply start up the game when it is live to play during the Early Access period.

If you didn’t pick up the Ultimate Edition of Remnant 2 you will not be able to take advantage of the early access period. Instead you will need to wait to play it when the game officially launches on July 25.

To access the items listed below you need to ensure that you’ve completed the game’s intro mission. This mission begins when you start and takes roughly 20-25 minutes to complete. Upon completion of the mission you arrive in Ward 13. Here you can collect the DLC items from various NPCs by advancing the main quest.

Early Gunslinger Archetype Pre-Order Unlock

If you Pre-Ordered Remnant 2 you will be able to play as The Gunslinger Archetype early. This Archetype is said to be a master of firearms, ammo, and weapon switching. The Gunslinger comes fully-equipped with 3 offense-based Skills that are sure to turn the tide of any battle.

To play as the Gunslinger archetype early complete the intro mission of the game. After completing this mission you arrive in the game’s hub area called Ward 13. In Ward 13 area you will speak to a character named Wallace, at the Docks, who allows you to pick your character Archetype. Among the classes you can equip is the Gunslinger (located between Handler and Medic).

Where to Get the 3x Remnant From the Ashes Armor Sets

Both the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions of Remnant 2 come with bonus armor sets for players to use. These bonus sets appeared in the first game, Remnant: From the Ashes. Owners of both editions receive the Elder, Void, and Radiant armor sets. All three of these sets can be claimed by advancing through the main quest in Ward 13.

Eventually you will be tasked with meeting up with Founder Ford to explore the Old Ward. During this sequence you explore the Old Ward and have to find the Ward 13 Key. Once you’ve found the key you can open a green locked door that leads to the World Stone room. After a short cutscene you go through the portal and receive your armor sets. They are added to your inventory.

Where to Get the Survival Pack in Remnant 2

Players that purchased the Ultimate Edition of Remnant 2 receive a special Survival Pack bundle. This bundle contains in-game items that will help you survive and thrive the high difficulty. The Survival Pack contains the following items:

  • 2 Mudtooth Elixir (EXP Bonus).
  • 5 Bloodroot.
  • 3 Ammo Boxes.
  • 1000 Scrap, 10 Iron.

All of these items can be used to make your runs a little bit easier, but they are consumable, so once used they are gone forever. You will automatically receive the Survivor Pack when you login to a save. The items are added to your inventory automatically.

Remnant 2 Season Pass DLC

The last bit of DLC items players can get their hands on, if they own the Ultimate Edition, is the DLC Bundle. This is basically the game’s season pass. There will be 3 DLC Packs released within Remnant 2’s first year of launch. There are currently no details as to what the content packs entails, but the developers have said it will include new story elements, creatures, and environments. When more details on the packs are released I will update this section accordingly.
