Honkai Star Rail Grinding in the Dark (Old Goethe)
In Honkai Star Rail there are daily missions that players can complete each day to earn Credits. These daily missions come from a variety of NPCs in the game. One NPC that can give you a daily mission is Old Goethe in Administrative District Hotel Lobby. Old Goethe is the hotel proprietor and he asks you to help him find a certain character. To complete this daily mission, see our Honkai Star Rail Grinding in the Dark Old Goethe version guide below.
Note: This daily mission features multiple possible versions. The first version you will always have to do to start the quests is the Old Goethe version. Once that version is done the next versions are random.
Where to Start Grinding in the Dark (Old Goethe)
When the daily mission Grinding in the Dark is first active you will need to speak to Old Goethe to start it. Goethe is located on the planet of Jarilo-VI in Administrative District in the Hotel Lobby. In the Hotel Lobby Goethe is the NPC standing behind the desk. Speak to him to begin his daily quest.
Find Rossy in the Hotel Lobby
When you speak to Old Goethe select “I’d like to chat with you.” This choice allows you to ask “You seem to need help with something?” which begins the Daily Mission. During your interaction Goethe will tell you that he needs you to find Rossy, an adventurer who likes to wander around the hotel lobby. This begins the Find Rossy in the Hotel Lobby quest objective.
Finding Rossy is easy to do. From the front desk turn around. You will see some sofas on your left and a well dressed man standing next to a hunched over man. Walk over to this duo and an interaction will automatically trigger. When you are able to speak choose the “I’m from the Society.” option then follow up with “It’s a volunteer group!” to complete the interaction with Rossy.
Report Back to Old Goethe
After you’ve spoken with Rossy head back to the front desk and speak to Old Goethe. Select “I’d like to chat with you.” This choice allows you to tell Goethe that “I solved Rossy’s issue.” After you tell Old Goethe what happened you then need to select “Sounds Interesting. I’m in.” when asked to join the secret society.
For completing this mission you receive 5,000 Credits. By advancing the Grinding in the Dark questline, you also gain the ability to immediately complete any additional parts that may be added in the future.
The Grinding in the Dark mission is not the only daily side mission players can complete in the game. There are other daily missions to complete including On the Doorsteps of Science and The Setting Sun is the Most Beautiful. See those guides for details.
