Hollow Knight: Silksong Officially Confirmed for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5
The much-anticipated sequel to Hollow Knight, Hollow Knight: Silksong, is now confirmed for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 at launch. Previously, the game was announced for Nintendo Switch, Xbox consoles, and PC, but this new announcement expands its availability even further.
A Long-Awaited Sequel
The news broke via an official tweet from the PlayStation X account, which encouraged players to “Sharpen your needles” in anticipation of the release. While the tweet didn’t provide many specifics, it confirmed that Hollow Knight: Silksong will be coming to Sony’s consoles.
Since its reveal at E3 2019, Hollow Knight: Silksong has quickly become one of the most highly anticipated games in the indie scene. Fans have eagerly followed each major event, hoping for more details on its development. Recently, those hopes have been rewarded with fresh information.
At the Xbox and Bethesda 2022 Showcase, a major new trailer was released, showcasing exciting gameplay footage. However, despite the exciting visuals, the trailer did not include a release date. Following the showcase, Xbox confirmed that all games shown would be releasing within the next 12 months, which suggests Hollow Knight: Silksong could be out by 2023.
What to Expect from Hollow Knight: Silksong
Hollow Knight: Silksong builds on the beloved metroidvania gameplay that made its predecessor a hit. Unlike the first game, which featured the titular Knight, players will now control Hornet, a skilled warrior armed with a large, sharp needle. Hornet embarks on a journey through the mysterious world of Pharloom, where she must uncover the reasons behind her arrival.
Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Fans subscribed to Xbox Game Pass will be able to play the game for free upon release.
