Where to Start The Hippogriff Marks the Spot
You can start The Hippogriff Marks the Spot side quest in the Poidsear Coast area. In this area you will find a named location called the Poidsear Castle. On the westside of this castle is a tent that has Henrietta’s Map on it. Pick up this map to view it. Once you’ve viewed it, it is added to your inventory and the next quest objective begins.
Henrietta’s Map
When you view the Henrietta’s Map you will see a few images that suggest you go to a specific location. These images are an old castle ruins, the edge of a peninsula, and fire and ice surrounding a Hippogriff. These three clues hint at a very specific location you need to visit to find the treasure.
Where to Find Henrietta’s Hideaway
To find the location, and the treasure there, make your way to the Manor Cape named area. Head to the very southern end of the peninsula to find the Henrietta’s Hideaway castle. This castle is the location that is shown in Henrietta’s Map. At the castle head to the southeast side to find a staircase leading down to a doorway. Go through this door to reach a dungeon.
How to Solve The Hippogriff Statue Puzzle
In the first room of the dungeon solve the fire and ice cube puzzle to open the door. Go into the next room to find the Hippogriff statue. This statue is a puzzle we must solve. Use Henrietta’s Map to view the solution to the statue puzzle. Basically what you need to do here is use a flame spell to light the four torches around the statue’s feet to match the drawing on the map. Extinguish flames using ice.
After solving the statue puzzle, it will trigger the opening of a secret wall that leads to a treasure chest. Open the chest to obtain a special cosmetic item. Claiming this treasure marks the completion of the Hogwarts Legacy side quest “The Hippogriff Marks the Spot.”
