Dying Light: Harran Egg Hunt Event Guide
The Harran Egg Hunt is an annual event in Dying Light that lets you join in the fun of Easter egg hunting in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. This event runs annually from April 1st to April 7th and offers exciting rewards for both individual and community achievements. Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of the event.
Event Overview
The Harran Egg Hunt event brings special Easter eggs to Dying Light, available through two primary methods: finding eggs in lootable containers or defeating special “bunny zombies” dressed in white. These eggs are unique items that players can collect and use to craft powerful grenades with different effects. Additionally, there are rewards for both personal egg collection and community-wide goals.
- Event Dates: April 1st – April 7th
- Event Goal: Collect Easter eggs and unlock awesome rewards!
How to Start the Harran Egg Hunt
Starting the event is easy! To participate:
- Log into the game during the event period (April 1st–April 7th).
- Look for eggs in loot chests and by defeating special bunny zombies. The event runs automatically once you’re logged in—there’s nothing additional you need to do.
Opting Out of the Event
If you decide you don’t want to participate in the event, you can easily opt out. Go to Main Menu > Options > Online > Community Event Participation and toggle the setting off. This will prevent event-specific content from spawning during your gameplay.
Where to Find Easter Eggs
There are two main ways to collect Easter eggs during the Harran Egg Hunt:
- Loot Boxes & Containers: Easter eggs can appear in the same loot containers you’re used to searching for gear and resources. Check places like toolboxes, wardrobes, and cabinets, especially in the Slums and Old Town areas. Eggs will occasionally be hidden among the usual loot.
- Bunny Zombies: Special zombies wearing white bunny outfits spawn around the map during the event. These bunny zombies drop Easter eggs when defeated. Keep an eye out for these distinctive enemies, as they can appear in various locations, including during regular gameplay or in specific event zones.
Tips for Efficient Egg Hunting
- Explore actively: The more you explore, the higher your chances of encountering bunny zombies and loot containers with Easter eggs. Focus on high-traffic areas like the Slums and Old Town where the bunny zombies often spawn.
- Focus on Bunny Zombies: These zombies drop eggs more consistently than loot containers. Keep an eye out for them during regular missions or while exploring. You can also make use of your map to pinpoint their locations once you’ve encountered a few.
- Work with teammates: If you’re playing in co-op mode, team up with others to clear out zombies quickly and cover more ground. This will increase your chances of finding bunny zombies and loot containers.
Egg Effects & Usage
Collecting Easter eggs isn’t just for fun—these eggs can be used to craft powerful Grenade Eggs that have different effects. These eggs work similarly to grenades but come with special abilities:
- Poison: Releases toxic gas upon explosion, causing damage over time.
- Freeze: Freezes enemies in place upon impact.
- Fire: Causes an explosion of flames, dealing area-of-effect damage.
- Knockback: Sends enemies flying away from the impact site.
Each grenade has its unique use, so keep a stock of different types to use in combat or strategic situations.
Event Rewards
There are multiple ways to earn rewards during the Harran Egg Hunt event:
Personal Rewards:
- Collect 10 Eggs: Unlock a gold-tier weapon.
- Collect 30 Eggs: Unlock the Cock-A-Doodle-Do outfit, a chicken-themed outfit to make you stand out in the post-apocalyptic world.
Community Rewards:
- Collect 1.5 Million Eggs (Community Goal): If the community hits this milestone, every participating player will receive three gold-tier weapon dockets.
The Harran Egg Hunt is a fun, lighthearted event that adds an Easter twist to your usual Dying Light gameplay. Whether you’re playing solo or with friends, the chance to collect special Easter eggs, craft grenade eggs, and unlock rewards makes this event an exciting addition to the game. Remember, this event only runs from April 1st to April 7th, so don’t miss out on your chance to participate!
