Doom Level Easter Egg Guide for Dying Light 2
There are a bunch of hidden challenges and unlocks for players to find and uncover in Dying Light 2. This hidden challenges are very well hidden and require searching out a variety of collectibles and off-the-beaten path items. One of the more obscure challenges is the Doom Level. This challenge can be unlocked by collecting 5 black ducks around the map. To help you find and complete this level use our Doom level Easter Egg guide for Dying Light 2 below.
Find the 5 Black Ducks
To begin the Doom Easter egg you need to find a certain collectible hidden across the map. This collectible is Black Ducks. There are 5 Black Ducks to find in the various territories of the game. The locations of the 5 Black Ducks are as follows:
- VNC Tower room.
- Lower Dam Ayer Moor.
- Mount Lucid Observatory guard tower.
- Underwater car in The Wharf.
- Northwest of Houndfield territory.
For more specifics on the exact locations of each check out our Black Ducks guide for details. Regardless of how you find them grab all 5 then make your way to the VNC Tower.
Go to the Altar Room
In the VNC Tower call the elevator and use it to go to the Basement. Swim through the water and continue through the door to reach a second elevator that has a bunch of candles around it. Use the elevator here to go to 0. This takes you down to the altar room. Inside this room place the 5 Black Ducks you collected on the 5 tables around the center altar.
You will notice there are electrical stations at each of the tables. To get the Doom weapon you need to attach the electrical cables to make a pentagram. This image above shows you how that looks. The easiest method is to grab the cable and turn directly around. Attach it to the box on the opposite side of the room.
Complete the Hangar Combat Challenge
Once the electricity is connected a boomstick will appear in the center of the room. Approach it to trigger a combat challenge. The combat challenge is a nod to Doom. The game mode tasks you with competing in a pixelated level. In this level you need to collect crystals hidden throughout. There are three possible medals you can unlock:
- Gold – 5 Crystals.
- Silver – 4 Crystals.
- Bronze – 3 Crystals.
You can replay this combat challenges as much as you’d like to get the medals. Each medal earned rewards you with Combat XP. Within the level you can also find the Mistress Machete + Dying Force blueprints. This is just one of many secrets hidden throughout the game.
Important: Do not teleport out of the altar area. You currently cannot go back to this location if you do.

I can’t even get the last crystal. The doorway on the right soon as you start is walled off.. can’t get the dying force blueprint… smh these devices need to run they games b4 releasing them
Omg people. THE PIXELATION IS ON PURPOSE!!! DUH. How did you don’t understand that. The entire purpose of the room is an Ode to DOOM. Hence the developers letter in the
room SPECIFICALLY to the DOOM creators by name!!! The pixelation is from doom!!! That’s the point!!! Why they call it THE DOOM ROOM. Are y’all really that young you have never seen doom? Or are you just stupid?
I can not finish the power attachments because the last line has no power to hook it into and there’s nothing on the table to get to make it have power. Can anyone tell me why that is?

I can’t even do this challenge to start with or get any blue prints……my screen is pixelated so bad I can’t see anything literally,I closed my app to try it again but now I’m locked out.I need HELP?im on Xbox 1
You may just need to wait for Techland to patch it unfortunately. There are a lot of bugs in the game.

Same here with the pixelated situation. But you can get back in the elevator if you stand there and invite someone like a friend from online. It’ll trigger it to open. But still pixelated and unusable for me. Shame
I couldn’t even do the challenge the second I started it the screen glitches and couldn’t see anything then it booted me out

I see. I don’t think you can unlock the challenge weapons or items legitimately.
It’s broken!!! The challenge is not giving me the weapon!!!!
Both the weapon blueprints are found in the level.
what we mean is we get no weapon to do the challenge not that hard to understand
