Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris – The Gateway Quest Guide

To begin Destiny 2’s Curse of Osiris DLC, you’ll need to complete the The Gateway quest. This is the first quest of the expansion, and while it’s fairly straightforward, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you complete it efficiently.

Step 1: Access Mercury

Make sure you have the Curse of Osiris content pack installed and then log into Destiny 2. Once in the game, select your character and open the Director. From the Director screen, find Mercury at the top of the map, just above The Tower. Select Mercury to trigger a series of cutscenes that set up the story of Osiris. After the cutscenes, you’ll land on Mercury, where the quest will officially begin. The recommended power for this area is +200, so be sure your Guardian is prepared for the challenge.

Step 2: Find a Gateway Into The Infinite Forest

Upon landing on Mercury, your objective is to find a gateway into The Infinite Forest. This gateway is near The Lighthouse, the large structure visible in the distance. Follow the linear path from your starting area, battling through the Vex and using the jump pads you encounter along the way. The final jump pad will launch you across a chasm, leading you to the main hub area of Curse of Osiris.

Step 3: Locate The Gateway

The Gateway itself is located on the opposite side of The Lighthouse (refer to the map for more details). At this point, you will not be able to access the Lighthouse’s interior, so don’t worry about trying to enter. Continue your journey, battling the Vex until you reach the Gateway. Here, you’ll face off against Agoros, Gatekeeper. Defeat Agoros, but you’ll be unable to enter The Gateway at this point, which will trigger the next part of the quest.

Step 4: Meet Brother Vance in The Lighthouse

Once you’re unable to enter The Gateway, you’ll hear from Brother Vance, a key character located inside The Lighthouse. Brother Vance will provide you with your next objective: retrieve Osiris’ Ghost, Sagira, and bring it to him. This will trigger a swarm of new Vex enemies and create a respawn-restricted zone. Quickly move past the enemies and head toward The Lighthouse entrance. Here, you’ll need to defeat another yellow-tier enemy and shoot the floating module (the square with a laser) above the entrance. Afterward, you’ll be able to enter The Lighthouse.

Step 5: Speak to Brother Vance

Once inside The Lighthouse, you’ll meet Brother Vance. Speak with him to complete the The Gateway quest, which will then trigger the next quest in the DLC: “A Deadly Trial“, located on the EDZ.
