After much anticipation, the highly-anticipated DLC expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, known as Phantom Liberty, has finally been released, offering players a brand-new narrative to delve into. This intriguing storyline presents players with a pivotal decision to make as they approach the conclusion of the game, where they must align themselves with specific NPC characters. Your choice in this critical moment will shape the course of the narrative, ultimately leading to one of the five unique endings featured in the DLC. Make a Manual Backup Save During Main Job 10: Firestarter
The decisions leading up to the Firestarter mission hold no sway over the DLC’s final outcome. It’s during the Firestarter mission itself that you wield the power to shape the DLC’s multiple endings. To ensure a seamless process for unlocking all endings, create a manual save at the Follow Songbird objective of the Firestarter mission. This proactive step allows you to reload and explore various endings without the hassle of replaying most of the DLC.
Ending Impacting Decision in Firestarter Quest
The Firestarter quest is very important as you make a pivotal decision during it. This decision determines which endings you can unlock in the DLC. The choice occurs during the objective “Talk to Songbird.” During this objective you jack in and then need to decide between one of two options:
- Help Songbird escape | I’m with you.
- Help Reed capture Songbird | One more second…
To ensure you can unlock all possible outcomes make sure to make a save before this objective. This allows you to reload the manual save and make the opposite decision of the one you chose first.
How to Unlock the King of Wands Ending
- Select Help Songbird escape | I’m with you during the “Firestarter” mission.
- Complete the “Firestarter” mission.
- You unlock “The Killing Moon” mission but can’t complete it yet.
- Skip time or do activities until you get a call from Mr. Hands with mission “Run this Town“.
- Complete the “Run this Town” mission.
- Skip time or do activities until you get a call from Reed.
- Skip time or do activities until you get a call from Songbird.
- Complete “The Killing Moon” mission up to very end where you go on a train ride.
Following the train ride you will need to make a set of choices that determine the ending outcome. For the King of Wands ending make the following choices as they occur.
- Pick up Songbird.
- Lay Songbird down.
- Can’t let you take her.
- Draw weapon.
- Aim and shoot Reed.
- Rest of the choices don’t matter.
If you follow all of the steps listed above you will will unlock the ending called King of Wands. After the credits you will receive the trophy/achievement for unlocking it.
Following the completion of this ending don’t do anything. Instead immediately reload an autosave on the train. This will allow you to easily unlock the next ending without having to put much time into it.
How to Unlock the King of Swords Ending
To unlock this ending simply reload an autosave made on the train. At the end of the train ride you will need to make a set of choices that determine the ending outcome. For the King of Swords ending make the following choices as they occur.
- Call Reed.
- Wanna live on.
- Deal.
- Pick up Songbird.
- Lay Songbird down.
- Take Good Care of Her.
If you follow all of the steps listed above you will will unlock the ending called King of Swords. After the credits you will receive the trophy/achievement for unlocking it. Unlocking this ending allows you to continue on to unlock The Tower ending which occurs starts after this ending.
How to Unlock the The Tower Ending
Completing the King of Swords ending allows you to do The Tower ending. After the credits roll you will regain control of VI. Wait for Reed to contact you with a mission called “Through Pain to Heaven.” Complete this mission and then start “Who Wants to Live Forever.” During this mission call Reed from the rooftop. Complete the mission then do mission after it called “Things Done Changed.” Following the completion of that final mission you will unlock The Tower ending and its associated trophy/achievement.
How to Unlock the King of Cups Ending
If you’ve been following this guide up to this point you should use your manual save you made during the Firestarter mission now. This will allow you to return to that quest to make different decisions that unlock the King of Cups ending.
- During the Firestarter mission select Help Reed capture Songbird | One more second… when talking to Songbird.
- Complete Firestarter.
- Advance through the main story until you reach the mission “Somewhat Damaged.”
- Make your way through this mission until reach the end where you go enter the Core where Songbird is.
- Make a manual save here.
- Pull the cable.
- When you can talk to her select “KILL SO MI | OK I’LL DO IT” when the choices is available.
- Continue through the story and complete the “Leave in Silence” mission.
Following the completion of the “Leave in Silence” you will unlock the King of Cups ending. You will get the trophy/achievement tied to this ending following the credits.
How to Unlock the King of Pentacles Ending
Reload you manual save from the “Somewhat Damaged” mission. Doing this allows you to complete the event in the Core by selecting other choices. The choices you want to make for this ending are:
- Make your way through this mission until where you go enter the Core where Songbird is.
- When you speak to Songbird this time select the following.
- “Ain’t over yet.”
- “That’s not a solution.”
- “Spare So Mi | Won’t do it“.
- Continue through the story and complete the “Leave in Silence” mission.
- You can then continue on to complete the “Who Wants to Live Forever” mission which leads to the Tower ending.
Following the completion of the “Leave in Silence” you will unlock the King of Pentacles ending. You will get the trophy/achievement tied to this ending following the credits.
If you’ve followed the guide up to this point you will have unlocked all 5 endings in Cyberpunk 2077. Of all the endings King of Swords/The Tower is the best, simply because everyone involved remains alive and gets something they want.
