In Animal Crossing New Horizons there are a number of tools for players to craft to collect resources. These tools vary in functionality but should be pursued in order to gain access to the different resources on your island. One resource you will want to tap into is wood. To help you gather wood you will want to get an axe. Below I will show you how to make an Axe in Animal Crossing New Horizons.

Give Tom Nook 2x Bugs to Get Axe Recipe

Advance your way through the tutorial until you have full access to the island. Once you’ve done this head to the Nook tent and complete the DIY Workbench tutorial that makes a fishing rod. Upon completion of this tutorial you will unlock a few new recipes including the net. Make a net then use it to capture bugs on your island.

Once you’ve capture two different types of bugs (can be two different butterflies), head to Tom Nook in the Nook tent and show the bugs to him. Agree to give the bugs to the museum and Tom will reward you with the flimsy axe recipe. To make this item you need to the following:

Once crafted the axe will be added to your inventory. Using the axe on trees will reward you with various types of wood. You can also mine ore and get stones from rocks. These types of materials can be used to craft different recipes you receive.
