How do You Find Fossils in Animal Crossing New Horizons?

After you’ve helped Blathers move to the island he will tell you about fossils. To find fossils you need to have a shovel handy. Once you have a shovel you want to look for marks on the ground like the one shown in the picture above. When you dig up this mark you will discover something (it may not be a fossil). If lady luck favors you you may unearth a fossil (as I did in the second picture). Once you have a fossil return it to Blathers to have him appraise it. Fossils Blathers doesn’t have can be donated to his Museum.

While out and about you should also keep your eyes peeled for glowing spots in the ground. These spots are also home to secrets. When you dig up these glowing spots you will typically unearth a bag of Bells for your troubles.

That’s all you need to know about how to find fossils in Animal Crossing New Horizons. You will need to collect a number of fossils if you are attempting to have Blathers open the museum on your island. Good luck.
