A River to Raid Guide – Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
In the Title Update 1.1.2 for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Ubisoft has added a new game mode called River Raid. This game mode allows players to explore new parts of England which they can raid for new items and equipment. This new game mode begins with an in-game quest called A River to Raid. Build the Barracks in Your Settlement
The A River to Raid quest has a Suggested Power of 131. It also has the requirement of having the Barracks built in your Settlement. If you haven’t done this already you will need to build this building to advance the quest. The cost of the Barracks is 400 Supplies and 30 Raw Materials. Once the building is built you will gain access to the Jomsvikings feature which is used for part of the River Raid game mode.
Talk to Eydis and Make a Jomsviking
Once you have the Barracks built your next step is to speak to Eydis at the Barracks. This character will be marked with a quest marker and should be found in or around the Barracks building. Speak to Eydis and make a Jomsviking (if you haven’t already done so). When you have a Jomsviking available to you the next quest step will unlock.
Meet the New Arrivals at the Old Dock
Leave the Barracks and head to the east to reach the Old Dock. Here you will encounter a group of new arrivals. Approach the group to meet the new characters including Sunniva and Vagn. After the first cutscene is over you will unlock a new settlement building called the River Raid Dock. This building allows you to access the new game mode, River Raids.
Speak to Vagn to Start River Raids
Once the River Raid Dock is built you will need to speak to Vagn. He will be around the new building. When you talk to this NPC you will be prompted to set sail on a River Raid activity. This new activity allows you to raid ne locations for supplies, gear, and cosmetic schemes. When you are ready to start the mode tell Vagn “Yes, let’s go raiding.” This will start the River Raid activity.
Complete the River Raid Activity
The River Raid activity plays out similar to raids in the main game. You will load into an area which can be explored and raided. During the first River Raid you take part in you will learn the basics of the game mode. All you will be doing here is going down the river, raiding locations, and completing the objectives that appear. Once you complete all the River Raid objectives return to your Settlement.
Build Jomsviking Hall
Back at the Settlement you will trigger a cutscene with Vagn. This cutscene will introduce one of the new buildings you can build called the Jomsviking Hall. Once the interaction with Vagn is complete head to the north of the River Raid Dock and build the Jomsviking Hall. This building costs 100 Foreign Supplies.
Upon building the Jomsviking Hall you will complete the A River to Raid mission in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. If you wish to continue the questline go to Vagn and speak to him. He will give you three new quests called Treasures of River Exe, Treasure of River Severn, and The Legacy of Saint George.
