The highly anticipated post-apocalyptic MMO, The Day Before, faces another delay. Initially set for November 11, it’s now rescheduled to December 7, 2023, adding to a series of postponements since its 2021 gameplay reveal.

Fntastic, the developers, announced the delay and released a new overview and release date trailer. This video provides a deeper insight into the game’s different gameplay elements, covering character customization, combat, inventory management, and driving.

Alongside the release delay, the developers unveiled another crucial change. While initially intended for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X and S, the game will now first enter Early Access on Steam. Console releases will follow after the Early Access phase, resulting in a more extended wait for console players.

“It will be Early Access on Steam since this is our first huge game, and there may be unforeseen circumstances,” Fntastic said. “[The] full version release will happen when we are certain this is the best version of the game possible, and we believe that player feedback and involvement will greatly contribute to achieving this goal.”

The Day Before’s Steam Early Access comes at $39, with the full version priced at $49.

For minimum PC requirements, it demands an Intel Core i5-8400 or an equivalent AMD processor, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or an AMD graphics card.

For optimal performance, Fntastic suggests an Intel Core i7-8700 (3.2GHz) or AMD equivalent CPU, an NVIDIA GeForce 1080 Ti or AMD graphics card, and an SSD for high-quality settings.

IGN has reported a pre-release beta period where “volunteers” can play the game early to help with development. To volunteer, visit the official Fntastic website for details.
