In the first Halloween update for Steal an Egg there is a questline players can complete by helping a spectral dog find four lost items and then return it to its owner. Where to Find Echo the Ghostly Dog
To start the questline you need to locate the ghost dog named Echo. Echo is found in the first zone of the Halloween Dimension.
From spawn head along the path until you pass the first tree on your left. Turn left at this tree and you will see three mausoleums and a witch hut in the distance.
Go over to the hut. You will find Echo standing by the witch hut and the cauldron.
Where to Find The Dog’s Lost Items
When you speak to Echo it tells you it lost four items (memories) that you must find for it. These items are hidden throughout the Halloween Dimension.
- Old Collar
- Chewed Bone
- Stuffed Bunny (Mr. Squeaky)
- Old Photograph
If you select any of the items from the menu, Echo will provide you with a clue as to where to look for it.
1. Collar
Clue: “I used to watch the trains at the old station…“
The Old Collar is located at the Phantom Express Train Station (right side of Halloween Dimension when facing away from spawn).
To reach the Old Collar go onto the train platform and then make your way across the tracks. You will see the item floating by a tree. Pick it up.
2. Chewed Bone
Clue: “I buried something in the swampy marsh… probably!“
From the Phantom Express head straight into the Swampy Marsh. Walk forward until you see a dock/pier. To the left you will see some rocks. By the rock is the Chewed Bone. Pick it up.
3. Stuffed Bunny (Mr. Squeaky)
Clue: “I was playing by the big pumpkin altar… I dropped something there.“
If you turn right from where you met Echo you will see an altar with a big pumpkin. Go over to it. Next to the altar is the Stuffed Bunny (Mr. Squeaky). Pick it up.
4. Old Photo
Clue: “Those glowing crystals by the manor gate… something shiny was there“
The Old Photo is located by the Manor Gate. To reach this area head along the main path from Spawn to the very end.
At the end you will reach a locked gate. When facing the gate look behind the rocks on the left to find the photo. Pick it up.
Return to Echo the Ghostly Dog
When you’ve found all four items for Echo you will be prompted to return to him. Head back to Echo and speak to him.
After speaking to the dog follow him to his owner, the Ghost Fisherman. Speak to the Ghost Fisherman to get a Haunted Rod.
Where to Use the Fishing Rod
After you get the Haunted Rod you need to use it. There will be a glowing dot on the pier. Stand on it then cast the rod into the ripples you see in the little pond by you.
If done correctly you will get pulled under the water by a strange fish. This will take you into a mini-game.
Complete the Underwater Mini-Game
The underwater mini-game is fairly straightforward. You are being pulled along by a strange fish. As you get pulled along you must avoid the hazards in your path.
You have three lives (hits) you can take before you die. The goal is to reach the treasure chest at the end.
When you reach the chest at the end you receive the Phantom Express Ticket.
What Does the Phantom Express Ticket Do?
The Phantom Express Ticket allows you to board the Phantom Express every half hour. The train takes you to a new location where you can suck up ghosts and trade them in for the Spectral Mutation Item.
