In Chapter 13 of the Resident Evil 4 Remake there is a special weapon that players can find called the LE 5. This weapon is a submachine gun and it is hidden behind a puzzle in the level. To help you find and get the weapon here’s our full Resident Evil 4 Remake LE 5 location guide.

Where to Find the LE 5

During Chapter 13 players must reroute power and solve a couple of Power Puzzles. During this sequence players visit the Freezer to get the Level 2 Card. While in the Freezer there is a Power Puzzle you can solve to reach a hidden room. The location and solution of this puzzle is shown in the screenshots above.

Once you’ve opened the Freezer room go inside. In this room look on the table directly in-front of you. You will find the LE 5 submachine gun sitting there. Pick it up to add the weapon to your inventory.

If you miss snagging the LE 5 here don’t worry. The Merchant will begin to sell it in Chapter 14. The gun costs 35,000 ptas to buy so finding it in the Freezer can save you a bit of money.

LE 5 Stats & Upgrades

The LE 5 is a medium-sized submachine gun that can have a scope attached to it. This weapon has the following description when you inspect/hover over it in your inventory:

“A medium-sized submachine gun that has good accuracy and penetration power. A scope can be mounted on top.”

The starting stats of the Red9 are:

  • Power: 0.80.
  • Ammo Capacity: 20.
  • Reload Speed: 0.65.
  • Rate of Fire: 2.50.
  • Precision: 4.50.

Like most weapons you can upgrade the LE 5 by speaking to the Merchant. Upgrading this weapon improves all of the stats listed above. You cannot equip the Laser Sight to this weapon.

Players can discover several special hidden weapons by exploring the various chapters in the game. Players can unlock things like the Red9, the iconic Chicago Typewriter, and even the infinite ammo Rocket Launcher.
