Remnant From the Ashes: How to Get Hardened Carapace

In the new Remnant From the Ashes Swamps of Corsus update there is a new armor set for players to craft called the Carapace Armor Set. This set can be acquired from the Brain Bug in Mar’Gosh’s Lair. To craft all the pieces in the set you will need to find a rare material called Hardened Carapace. To help you find this material use our how to get Hardened Carapace guide below.

Note: The beetle room mentioned below can be found in both Hall of Whispers and Strange Pass dungeons.

Kill Black Beetles in the Hall of Whispers or Strange Pass Dungeons

To get the Hardened Carapace you will need to rely a bit on RNG. First you need to roll a Corsus with either the dungeon called Hall of Whispers (leads to Corrupted Sanctum) or Strange Pass. Inside these two dungeons you need to find the rounded room highlighted on the map above. Inside this room there is more RNG. In the rounded room a colored beetle will spawn. Killing this beetle before it scurries into its hole will net you a few possible rewards:

• Black Beetle: Hardened Carapace.
• Red Beetle: Iskal Hunter Band.

If you wish to get the Hardened Carapace you will need to get the Hall of Whispers or Strange Pass to spawn with a Black Beetle in the round room. When done correctly you will receive the Hardened Carapace material which can be used to make the update’s new armor set.

That’s all you need to know to get the Hardened Carapace. Make sure you shoot any beetles you see to get any rewards they may posses.
