The Remnant 2 Ward 13 Key is a special item players must find during the game’s opening intro sequence. During this intro mission players go into The Old Ward with Founder Ford. Where is the Ward 13 Key

In the upstairs room look for this painting you can interact with.

Inside of The Old Ward you will find a locked green door. To open this door requires getting the Ward 13 Key. To find the Ward 13 Key go upstairs to the living area. In the living area look on the wall for a portrait you can interact with. Interact with the portrait to move it out of the way, revealing a secret shelf. You will collect the things from off the shelf and will get the Matchbook (Quest Item) and Dragon Heart (Relic).

Take both of these items and go back downstairs to the locked green door. Interact with the door to bring up a menu. On the menu you will see the Matchbook. Inspect the Matchbook and open the end of it to reveal the Ward 13 Key inside of it. Use the Ward 13 Key to open the locked door.

Opening the locked green door automatically trigger a cutscene. During this cutscene you inspect the defunct World Stone. The World Stone then comes to life and you are teleported to a new location which officially begins a run. You must do this as part of the game’s storyline.
