How to Get the Special Rockruff in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon

What is Special Rockruff?
Special Rockruff is available as a pre-order bonus if you purchased Pokémon Ultra Sun or Pokémon Ultra Moon before January 10, 2018. Unlike regular Rockruff, this one has the ability to evolve into the exclusive Dusk Form Lycanroc.
How to Obtain Special Rockruff
- Start the Game: Begin your Pokémon Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon adventure.
- Access Mystery Gift: From the main menu, select the “Mystery Gift” option.
- Receive the Gift: Choose “Receive Gift” and connect your game to the internet. The game will search for available gifts.
- Pick Up Rockruff: Once you receive the gift, visit any Pokémon Center and talk to the Deliveryman to claim your Rockruff.
After you’ve received your Rockruff, be sure to level it up during the right in-game time window to unlock the Dusk Form Lycanroc evolution.
How to Evolve Special Rockruff into Dusk Form Lycanroc
To evolve your special Rockruff into the exclusive Dusk Form Lycanroc, follow these steps:
- Level Rockruff to Level 25 or Higher: First, make sure your Rockruff has reached at least level 25. This is the minimum level required for it to evolve.
- Wait for the Right Time Window: The evolution into Dusk Form Lycanroc is time-dependent. You need to level up Rockruff between 5:00 p.m. and 5:59 p.m. in the in-game clock.
- You can check the in-game time by looking at the clock displayed on the bottom-right corner of the screen. Be sure that the time is between 5:00 p.m. and 5:59 p.m. before you level up Rockruff.
- Level Up During the Time Window: Once you’ve ensured that Rockruff is level 25 or higher and you’re within the specified time window, simply level up Rockruff. When it reaches the required level during the 5:00 p.m. to 5:59 p.m. window, it will evolve into Dusk Form Lycanroc.
- Enjoy Your New Lycanroc: After the evolution, you’ll have a powerful Dusk Form Lycanroc on your team, with a unique appearance and a special set of moves!
