Pokemon Snap Release Date Revealed in New Trailer

Fans looking forward to taking photos of Pokemon finally have a release date for the upcoming Nintendo Switch title. The New Pokemon Snap release date appeared in a trailer released by the Pokemon Company. The ‘gotta photograph them all’ title will appear on the Switch on April 30, 2021.

The release date came in a release date trailer for New Pokemon Snap on The Official Pokemon YouTube Channel. This trailer begins with a Pokemon Photographer receiving a camera. Once the photographer receives the camera they enter an orb shaped vehicle called the NEO-ONE. The photographer then travels through the Lental Region encountering a number of different Pokemon types across dense jungles and vast deserts. The player must take pictures of the Pokemon to help Professor Mirror complete an ecological survey of the island by snapping pictures of its inhabitants. Like the previous game photos are graded by the Professor.

One important thing to point out in the trailer is the strange Meganium that appears in the trailer. The Meganium Pokemon appears surrounded by a glowing green light. This light is called the Illumina phenomenon and players are tasked with finding more information about it through the story.

2021 marks the 25th anniversary of the Pokemon Franchise. To celebarate the Pokemon Company has announced a number of interesting events, with more to follow.

Pokemon Snap will release onto the Nintendo Switch on April 30, 2021. The game is up for pre-order right now.
