This morning, the Pokémon Company held a special Pokémon Presents event, unveiling various upcoming Pokemon projects set to launch in the next few years. One of the surprises included the unveiling of a trailer for a new game called Pokemon Legends Z-A. This new Pokémon title is set to launch worldwide simultaneously in 2025.

Pokemon Legends Z-A Reveal Trailer Shows Lumiose City

Pokemon: Legends Z-A continues the story from the action-packed RPG Pokémon: Legends Arceus, released in 2022. Set entirely in Lumiose City from the Kalos region which appeared in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y 10 years ago.

The reveal trailer skips gameplay footage, giving a glimpse into an urban development plan for Lumiose City. It showcases a futuristic setting where Pokémon and humans coexist.

Mega Evolutions, a beloved feature, will return in Pokemon: Legends Z-A, hinted at by its symbol in the trailer. This system lets players trigger a Mega form of certain Pokémon using Mega Stones. Mega versions of Pokémon look different visually and feature different Abilities in battle.

There’s no confirmed release date yet for Pokemon: Legends Z-A, but the trailer says it is a 2025 release. Speculation surrounds its potential launch on the anticipated Nintendo Switch 2, rumored for this year.

Today’s Pokémon Presents didn’t stop at just one reveal. The developers also divulged details on three new 7-Star Tera Raids headed to Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet in the upcoming weeks.
