PlayStation 5 Update 7.01 Patch Notes
It’s only been a week since Sony released the fairly substantial PlayStation 5 7.00 patch which included adding Discord support to the console, but already there is a new patch to download. PlayStation 5 Update 7.01 released earlier today and folks are wondering what’s inside of it. Let’s take a closer look at the update in the PlayStation 5 Update 7.01 Patch Notes below.
What’s in PlayStation 5 Update 7.01
The PlayStation 5 receives a new patch, exceeding 1 GB in size. Consider this mainly a patch to fix issues from the previous large patch released last week. It aims to address any problems caused by that earlier update.
The PlayStation 5 Update 7.01 patch notes give very little detail as to what all has been added/changed. The official Patch Notes simply says:
- We’ve fixed an issue that was causing Discord voice chat to disconnect (website).
- This system software update improves system performance (console).
Adding Discord to PlayStation 5 has been a long time coming. Fans of both platforms have hoped for high levels of integration given Sony’s recent investment in the service.
Singling out Discord seems to imply that the focus of this patch is simply cleaning up any negative effects Patch 7.00 has caused for console holders. If you need further assistance in installing PlayStation 5 Update 7.01 check out the PlayStation 5 support page.
