How to Save in God of War Ragnarok
The long awaited PlayStation exclusive, God of War Ragnarok is officially upon us. This sequel to the smash hit released back in 2018 featured a bunch of new systems for players to use while playing. One of the new systems is how saving works. To learn more about it here’s how to save in God of War Ragnarok.
Saving Your Game
God of War Ragnork saves your game through two methods: autosaves and manual saves. Autosaves, as the word suggests, occurs naturally as you playthrough the game. These saves occur at checkpoints and they happen often throughout your journey. You will have a number of autosaves of your game made while playing. They appear under Load > All or Auto (as seen in the screenshot above).
Manual saves work slightly differently as they are manually done by the player. The way you save is similar to how it was in the previous title. Push the start button to open the Options screen. On this screen you will find Save. Push the Save button to save your game. Keep in mind that manual saves are made a checkpoints as well, meaning you may not save exactly where you are.
Accessibility Save Option
The save system works fairly well in the game. With that said there is some accessibility options you can turn on to make Saves/Checkpoints even more forgiving. Go to the Options screen and scroll down to Settings. Scroll down to Accessibility. The option you may wish to adjust is Miniboss Checkpoints. This gives you more checkpoints while fighting Minibosses in the game such as Trolls and Ancients. Keep in mind this doesn’t apply to No Mercy and the God of War difficulties.
That’s all you need to know about how to save in God of War Ragnarok. The new save system has been streamlined a bit, allowing players to easily manage all of their saves in one place. Additionally there is the new Miniboss Checkpoints system you may wish to turn on if you are having issues with fights in the game. This option makes these fights more managebale by putting checkpoints in them that wouldn’t normally be there.
