In the new River Raid mode of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla there are a ton of chests for players to find and open. Some of these chests are accessible while others are locked. When you encounter a locked chest for the first time you may wonder how to open them. We’ve got you covered. Below you will learn how to open locked chests in River Raid mode.

Where to Find River Raid Keys

When you encounter a locked chest during a River Raid you will be unable to open it until you find a key. Keys can be found throughout the River Raid map you are on. The exact locations change, but I have had good luck looking on windowsills and tables specifically. They appear white when using Odin’s Vision. When you are near a key you will see a prompt to Collect Key. Hold the button when prompted to have the key added to your inventory.

Once you have a River Raid Key in your inventory you are able to use it when you encounter a locked chest. Typically locked chests contain better loot than what you would normally get. Of the locked chests I’ve opened so far I’ve found Ingots and other high quality upgrade materials.

That’s all you need to know about unlocking chests during the River Raid game mode. The key is to keep your eyes open when you are searching the different locations. The more keys you find the more keys you bank back at the Settlement.
