Early today the Pokemon company held a Pokemon Direct that revealed a number of news pieces regarding the upcoming Pokemon titles. One announcement that was made is the coming of an expansion for Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. Ahead of the release of this expansion in June, the Pokemon Company is holding a bit of a preview. This preview allows players to get a Galarian Slowpoke. To help you get your own, use our how to get a Galarian Slowpoke in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield guide below.

Note: make sure is up to date or the trainer listed below will not appear.

Go to Wedgehurst Station to Meet Klara or Avery

Note: during your battle with the Galarian Slowpoke you don’t have to worry about it fainting. It will continue to block the turn-style until it is captured. This means you can continue to try and capture this level 12 Pokemon until you do.

To get the new Galarian Slowpoke make your way to the Wedgehurst Station in Wedgehurst (first major town in the game). When you enter the station you will meet a new trainer depending on which copy of the game you have. Those with Pokemon Sword will meet Klara while those with Pokemon Shield will meet Avery. There is a brief cutscene with an introduction to the new forthcoming expansion. After this cutscene you will be prompted to battle the Galarian Slowpoke that is blocking the entrance to the train. During this battle catch the pokemon to add it to your collection.
