How To Catch Titan Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

In Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet there is a storyline called Path of Legends during which players encounter Legend Pokemon. These Legend Pokemon are huge Pokemon that many players wish they could catch. Thankfully, these Pokemon can be caught, but you have to complete a few steps first. Continue reading below to learn how to catch Titan Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Can You Catch Titan Pokemon During the First Encounter?

Many people are wondering if it is possible to catch Titan Pokemon during your first interaction with them. The answer to this question is no. The first time you fight a Titan Pokemon as part of the Path of Legends storyline you will defeat the Titan Pokemon. There is no way around this. You have to defeat the Titan Pokemon to advance the storyline.

When Can You Catch Titan Pokemon?

To be able to catch Titan Pokemon you need to first beat the game. Once you’ve beaten the game you will be able to return to the location where you encountered each Titan. Here you will find the Pokemon waiting for you. To initiate the battle simply speak to the Titan Pokemon and it will begin. Before you go into battle you will want to ensure you’ve done the following:

  • Buy battle/catching supplies like Ultra Balls.
  • Bring a Pokemon that can inflict status effects.
  • Bring a Pokemon that has False Swipe.
  • Try and have a party of +60 level.
  • Make a save.

A very important thing to keep in mind is that these are a one chance encounter. To ensure you don’t faint the Pokemon use False Swipe and avoid using any damage over time status effects like Poison.

Where to Catch the Stony Cliff Titan Klawf (Level 16)

The first of the Titan Pokemon you probably fought is the Stony Cliff Titan crab Klawf. Klawf can be found to the northwest of Artazon where you battled it during the storyline. It is at level 16. Go to the location shown on the map above to find Klawf. Speak to it then catch it. This Pokemon is rock type.

Where to Catch Open Sky Titan Bombirdier (Level 20)

The second of the Titan Pokemon you probably fought is the large Open Sky Titan bird Bombirdier in the West Province (Area One). Bombirdier is found at the base of the mountain path you had to climb while dodging the falling rocks. It is at level 20.

The easiest way to reach this location is fast travel to the West Province (Area One) – Central Poke Center then follow the path northwest. Speak to Bombirdier to start your battle against it. Bombirdier is a Flying/Dark type Pokemon.

Where to Catch Lurking Steel Titan Orthworm (Level 29)

The third Titan Pokemon you encounter during the questline is the Lurking Steel Titan Orthworm. Orthworm is located in East Province (Area Three). The Pokemon is hanging out where you first battled it during the quest. It is at level 28.

The easiest way to reach Orthworm is to fast travel to either the Million Volt Skyline or the East Province (Area Three) Watchtower fast travel locations. From both locations it’s a quick walk/ride over to the cave entrance where Orthworm is waiting. This Pokemon is Steel type.

Where to Catch Quaking Earth Titan Great Tusk/Iron Treads (Level 44)

The fourth Titan Pokemon you encounter during the questline is the Quacking Earth Titan Great Tusk/Iron Treads. Great Tusk/Iron Treads is located in the Asado Desert to the south of Port Marinada. The Pokemon is hanging out where you first battled it during the quest. It is a bit on the tougher side as it is at level 45. This Pokemon is Ground/Fighting type.

Where to Catch False Dragon Titan Tatsugiri (Level 57)

The final Titan Pokemon you fought during the questline is the False Dragon Titan Tatsugiri. Tatsugiri is located on the furthest east island in Casseroya Lake. It is located direcly east of the Casseroya Lake (Islet) fast travel point. Fast travel to this location and go to the island to the east. Here you will find Tatsugiri waiting for you. This Pokemon is at level 57 and is Dragon/Water type.

These are not the only special Pokemon you can catch at the game’s end. There are special Legendary Shrine Pokemon you will want to catch if you are looking to catch them all. These Shrine Pokemon are locked inside Shrine’s by Stakes.
